Not that they've got such a great record with that so far - like the Octans packs they did.
The 40L one @0.7kg is definetly impressive, that the 25L version is somehow slightly heavier rather suggests the focus rather slipped
(and does make having both in the range a tiny bit nonsensical.).
Jon, which Montane pack have you been using?
The Medusa 32 - do a search for it on the site - it's a really neat mountain all-rounder that oddly seems to fill a gap that not many packs are in: relatively light, relatively tough, some really neat features.
Got the MnHaus Asgard jacket. Got it over the smock because I liked the venting with the internal pockets. I really like the idea of the core body venting over the pit zips approach. It also has a wierd feature in that one side of the zip teeth run is longer than the other or it is offset somehow. That creates a little opening under the flap which I'm not sure does anything but I'll buy into the blurb that it allows venting even when done up (know it isn't true but the feature does intrigue me as too why?).
I'd be tempted by more Mtn Haus stuff in the future. I think it is kind of getting Berghaus back into the top end a bit. IIRC you used to always see Bonnington wearing Berghaus on his expeds. Back to the best of British Mountaineering perhaps, or at least working at it...
As far as the sack goes, well I have an 18 or so year old Berghaus Alpine Extrem sack and rate it. It is about 1.6kg and does me for backpacking as it is 50 litres + 10 litres and the design is limpet like on your back when you need it to be, very well balanced and stable. If they have repeated this with the new sack (Caldera) then it should be good. With my sack it is the webbing that pulls the hipbelt into the body of the pack in my sack that I rate most. I've yet to find a sack as good.
It’s not all hill walking and Kendal mint cake
