By a total co-incedence I have just been to Chamonix, and it was great.
As a bonus I have been told that I pass on an offer of 10% off accomodation booked with www.chamonixallyear.com if you email relax at chamonixallyear com They also do transfers from Geneva airport, which you can get to on Easyjet so cost not so high. Beer is well priced in Chamonix as well.
