I really really really want one of these, with a porch, but I already have a mortgage :(

Me too, unfortunately. I borrowed one a couple of years back and it's the best big camping tent I've used. Love the airiness and the quality and the mellow vibe. The firebox thing is brilliant too

In the Netherlands the Tenttipi's with porches are called back (recalled) the velcro attachment to attach the porch to the tipi didn't held. The velcro got sheered of. They are developing another method for attaching the porch but it's not sure which one yet.

Really? That's gutting after spending so much money on it!

Money was returned without questions, that's always with call back actions. Manufacturers doing call back actions are in my good book. Things might go wrong during designing and it's great the consumer get's money back or free replacement with a good part.

So checkout when you're going into the buying of a tentipi with aporch if still the velcro solution is used. Ask about it and ask for your rights when things go wrong.

Thanks for that Zuma, good info. They certainly sound good, and with good customer service too... now all I need is for my bank to OK a second mortgage

hi I've git a Varrie 7, (now called the safir 7) and on my way back from a camping trip on monday I called in to proadventure in Llangollen , they showed me the porch, it looks very nice BUT at £ 375.00 Id just be able to stand up in it , and a lot af faffing around to fiit I decided to give it a miss , I have today found a vango add on porch  so with a little sewing magic , I will make it fit , ok its not as nice looking as the tentipi one but it is green , , and it has a floor  ! I am going to measure it against my tipi tommorow so if the price is right Im on it

just my opinion guys

Hmmm my idea about the porch is that it has an awfull look on tenttipi's but that's personal. I'm more the guy that likes the A frame construction above the entrance of the tipi (staked bak along the sides of the tipi and a huge tarp on it. The small gap between entrance and A frame is almost no burden in a heavy downpour. But the looks are far more better than that strange tunnellike porch. Again it's personal . And I do not own a tentipi but a Bison Tundra 8 tipi. It was better for my wallet and i do not use it that often. i'm more a lightweight person (owning also a Seekoutside tipi 6P).

each  to their own , Ive tried a  totanka tarp and as you say for looks , it does do the tipi justice  but my dog is now blind and there fore I need something that I can secure , and my mrs likes to sit in a porch with window s,  and the porch ive got will also fit around the back of my trucks , and when alone I can sleep in the back and just step out into the porch , just different kit for different scenarios ,

For tipi fetish look at this....

If you take a good look you see that the huge tarp is connected to the top of the tipi. Furthermore you notice something of a porch also.

This tipi is raised by a single steel pole which also functions as exhaust pipe for the stove which actually hangs on the pipe and is turnable (you just turn the whole pipe with it.) handy if you don't want to get out of bed when it's cold and you want to throw a log in it.

I see this type of tipi often and IMHO a tentipi is nice but these babies are way more nicer, rounder, higher, sturdier. Simply a roll royce under the tipi's suited for car camping (you might need a cart behind your car if it's small one).
