Win a ridiculously light Verto jacket - above - from The North Face by taking part in our ridiculous contest.

Just study the attached article and tell us which of the jacketed women is Penny and which is Helen and why, simple eh? If you know them anyway, in which case you're not eligible. You have until midnight next Thursday. Good luck

Well ladies, as my name is Pete Howes, giving me initials of PH, I'm going to have to say that Penny is on the left and Helen is on the right. Sorry, couldn't think of anything witty or original.

Penny is on (my) right.  I choose her because I like her tune.

When Penny is old, she shall wear purple and a red hat that doesn't go,
Like the old lady who sat down on pavements that Elizabeth Lucas used to know,
Purple Penny will be her name and she will make up for the sobriety of her youth,
And she will dance in slippers when it rains and will apear otherwise uncouth.

Helen's beauty will launch a thousand ships across the sea so blue,
and take her all the way to Everest, via Lukla and Kathmandu,
Her eyes, like limpid pools, will draw men from far and wide,
but Hard Helen will leave them blue, like the hood 'neath which she hides.

So are Purple Penny and Hard Helen wearing the colours that will define their lives,
or is all not as it seems, as their future is still to arrive,
Penny is not yet old, and in love Helen is so careful,
so it must be Penny in blue and Helen in Purple!

Hmmm never been any good at names and as I can't see their faces which wouldn't help anyway - fortunately the only thing left is the colour of the jackets so well, my guess is that Penny is wearing the lighter blue jacket and Helen must be wearing the darker jacket and um.....well not sure about her other attire or the colour of said jacket.......thankfully there wasn't a red jacket which could be even more confusing if I were colour blind so Helen on the left Penny on the right;  Right?

id have said penny was the one on the left, as shes more pocket sized and the jacket is pink and purple...

Penny left, Helen right.
I know Helen's that are tall. I only knew one Penny.
Aren't they both lovely, though? ;-)

Little bird told me that Penny is on the right and Helen on the left
I'm 100% sure, he he.

Penny in the light blue, Helen in the dark blue.

What we can see of Penny's face, she looks pensive - Penny for her thoughts. Also there is the  figure behind her - Penny for the guy?

Helen appears to be wearing a lightweight binbag skirt.

Not very impressed with the new TNF  catalogues in the first picture.

Penny left, Helen right.

The man appears to be wearing a gold condom and a childs hat

hey, loyal reader form hong kong. i am not sure if you will ship it over the ocean.
anyways, here is my pick:
Penny in blue jacket while Helen in purple.
because h should be taller then p. =)

Penny is on the right as I google imaged her and she looks like same girl in another article with the man in the orange coat :-)

In my experience, women called Helen are always right. Don't ask. So just to clarify; that must be Penny on the left, and Helen on the right. No?
05/03/2011 at 13:38
P for Purple, P for Penny, so Penny is on the left in the Purple jacket...?
05/03/2011 at 20:39

Helen is in the purple jacket (on the left) and Penny is in the blue jacket(on the right).

you used a combination of reverse psychology and the power of suggestion. In the question you phrased it as Penny and Helen, and in the photo its actually Helen and Penny

.. or maybe it was a double bluff?

is helen in purple, purple penny would be too obvious!

Helen is on the left and Penny is on the right, everyone knows that!!

Perish the thought

Penny is on the left and Helen on the right as all Penny's are petite and Helens are higher!

Purple Penney, clearly.
