Go on... you know you want a climbing hut of your own!

Alternatively... a quick whip-round on OM for funds!

Raise Cottage (on Dunmail Raise) for sale.

Wonder why they are selling it? They also have a hut between Plas y Brenin and the Pen y Gwyrd. Wonder if that's for sale too?

Dunno what the reason is for the sale, but the 'For Sale' notice has been standing by the roadside for some time. Being one of the most popular roads through the Lake District, countless thousands of people must have seen it.

It's the Bennachie Care Home

I saw the board go up a while back and wondered how much. Not the most inspiring of places, people don't half shift along that road.

It seems they have bought another hut, so are selling Dunmail Raise. See here I hope it stays as some sort of hostel type accomodation and isn't just converted into a house.

Make sure you don't try and fight any fires in your fridge (see article linked above).

Looks very nice, seems a bit expensive ( perhaps thats just me though )

I think lack of parking could be the issue here.

£395,000 for a detached house with acres of fellside? Normally, whenever I look in an estate agents window, you don't get much change out of half a million for that!

There's a big roadside layby, and anyway, the hut is on the main 555 bus route through the Lake District. Buses every hour in both directions!

Still had gas lighting last time I stayed there (late 199something?) and leccy from a genny - that was fun starting up

Group buy?

05/08/2012 at 17:24

£395,000 divided by an unknown number of OM members equals...?

05/08/2012 at 17:35

£10,394.74 each for 38 people should do it! Plus fees of course!! Say £11k each then.

only problem is the masses of boy racers that use dunmail raise as a testing ground for their bangers otherwise its a bargain.
