Lots of kit for sale

Time to shake off my profligate and get rid of some of the surplus kit.

Some of the kit is used some is unused.

I would much prefer to sell the kit in person down here on edge of Dartmoor but would be prepared to post at cost if required.

Rather than getting into a long chain of emails if you're interested in stuff then contact me via the forum and I'll let you have my phone number and we can go from there.

My plan is to sell the kit on Ebay as I am well aware of daft prices that can be achieved on there. However to save me time and effort I'll try on here first.

Tents.

Terra Nova Terra Firma Unused. That's a lot of tent lying about doing nothing!

Hilleberg Akto. Used in perfect condition

Either my Hilleberg Nallo2 GT or a Lightwave G2 MTN. Both are in perfect condition with very little use. The Hilleberg comes with a full size footprint. One of them needs to go!

Terra Nova Bothy 8. Unused still in packaging

Sleeping Bag.

Rab Summit 300. Perfect condition and only used with a silk liner.

Climbing kit.

Full rack of climbing hardware and software. All top the range stuff. Black Diamond Camalots, DMM Wallnuts, Wild Country Rocks.Wild Country Rockcentrics. Ultralight DMM Wiregate Quickdraws on Dyneema Slings. Petzl harnesses. Petzl helmets. A full comprehensive UK rack. I'm just keeping shoes and chalkbag for a bit of bouldering.

Clothing.

Sprayway TL Meridian Gore-Tex jacket. Used but still got life in it.

Mountain Range Pennine Gore-Tex overtrousers.  Size Large. A couple of crampon scags but still very usable.

Berghaus Lightweight fleece zip neck top. Size 8. Unused.

Haglofs Lightweight fleece zip neck top. Size Large.

Also forgot to add that I would be willing to p/x or swap kit for the following items.

That's one big Chainsaw!

Seriously though, do you really need an 18" bar? Generally 15" is adequate for most jobs.  You can easily fell trees with trunk width up to twice the bar length.  If you don't know how (training/experience), you probably shouldn't be felling trees that big!  However if it's cutting up logs, a bigger bar is useful.  Also, smaller bar = more power than larger bar on same engine.... 

Reason for all this chainsaw banter is, I have a smaller pro quality stihl saw (024) you might be persuaded to take as px for the Akto. (or Nallo).  Could find you a 075 if you really want a 'mans' saw!

Also I live in Devon, often work near Dartmoor - and am a professional garden/landscape consultant specialising in garden development/management for conservation - with all the associated practical knowledge- would be willing to px work/consultancy/design - excellent references available)

The Akto/Acto situation had occurred to me as well.

You're absolutely right about the saw. I want a saw capable of running a 18" bar but would normally be using a 13" or 15" bar. The saw is for maintaining a rural garden, dropping the occassional tree and doing plenty of logging up. 

I would certainly consider a p/x on any of the kit including the Hilly tents. A Stihl machine would certainly be interesting. I see that on Ebay 2nd hand ones have sold for between £127 and £129 in the last month. I would like to know a lot about the history of a 2nd hand saw.

There's plenty of interesting work here that could be your kind of thing if you're willing to look at trading kit for skill and labour but I really do need to get some equipment for maintaining this place!

I can take PayPal but would prefer not to, I can't help feeling like I am being ripped off by those guys. Bank transfer, personal cheque, Postal Orders or cash on collection would all be alternatives that would suit me. I'd accept PayPal if we could find some way of sorting out the fees.
