A bit late due to a computer breakdown but here is my trip report to the Grahams Sob an Eas and Cruach nam Mult climbed on Saturday 5 April. The report includes some photos that I took.

Another Graham this time Meall nan Gabhar south-east of Dalmally on Sunday 6 April. This route shows that it is possible to ascend this Graham from the north rather than the longer alternative route from Glen Falloch. A few photos are included

Trip report and photographs from a challenging two days backpacking east of Knoydart taking in Sgurr na Ciche, Ben Aden and Bidean a'Chabair on 19 - 20 April.

Enjoyed your trip report to Sgurr na Ciche etc.  I was up in Glen Shiel again earlier that same week and on the Monday night (14th April) the snow was right down on the hills in the morning with ice on the caravan step. Climbed Beinn Sgritheall from Arnisdale and enjoyed a lovely sunny morning. However, above 700m the snow was quite deep and gave a bit of mild excitement on the last little scramble to the summit with big snowy drops on either side !

Decided not to tackle Ciste Dubh the following day with my limited experience of winter skills and the threat of avalanches, so will be back up there again soon.

Looking forward to Slioch with you in June.

How many Munros left to climb now Norman?

I know the spot on Beinn Sgritheall you mention. It is a bit of a challenge in winter conditions especially with the drops on either side. Last time I was there the gully below the east summit was full of hard packed snow so on the return we diverted to the north to come round it which added on a bit tof time. Beautiful location though and starting from sea level means no cheating by starting higher up as in some of the Munros.

There were a few sections on my trip that the lady I was with didn't like but that is always the risk at this time of year in Spring snow.

See you in June.

36 to go, and a date fixed for Number 284 !

So I've a bit of travelling around to do before Sunday, August 17th. Hope you may be around Glencoe that day for a wee party at sea level !

Ha! What a coincidence, Lindsay, I've just been consulting your site cos AT suggested Stob Ban for my first munro in the summer!

I'll have a look at these latest trip reports now.

I thought you had been to Scotland with some OMers. Surprised you haven't been to the top of a Munro yet.

By the way there are two Stob Bans (maybe you are aware), one being at the end of the Grey Corries and the other in the Mamores. Both are reasonable hills to climb and I would probably go for the Mamores one over the Grey Corries due to the the rockier terrain.

Hope you enjoy the adventure whichever one you choose.

Very interesting trip reports Lindsay!  I was surprised to read that you bumped into a fellow walker on Cruach nam Mult - very seldom visited hills these two (cruach nam mult and stob an eas) but very underrated and they compare favourably to the nearby Arrochar Alps.  Your website makes very enjoyable reading.

Oh and I would say to Kate - go for Stob Ban, you wont be disappointed as it is an absolutely cracking hill with an excellent ringside view of Ben Nevis and Carn Mor Dearg just over at the other side of Glen Nevis.  It also has a wonderful pointy, conical shape with a small summit.  In my opinion one of the best Munro's and not a very long or strenuous climb.

Thanks for your comments Cammy. I still have around 10 trip reports to write up but I'm off to Torridon and The NW Highlands tomorrow for a couple of weeks.

I very seldom meet anyone on the 'Grahams' as most baggers are concentrating on the Munros and Corbetts. A couple of weeks ago I was out on the Graham Craig Dubh (Glen Roy/Glen Spean) on an afternoon prior to backpacking at the head of Glen Roy, when I was surprised to meet a fellow Graham bagger coming off the summit. A very rare occurrence.

Weekend in Glen Roy climbing the Graham Creag Dhubh and a backpacking trip to climb two of the Carn Dearg Corbetts on 10 - 11 May. Unfortunately the photos aren't up to much as it was rather dull, in fact low cloud on the Sunday.

Backpacking trip to the Corbett Sgurr nan Eugallt and the Graham Slat Bheinn in the Barrisdale Forest, east of the Knoydart peninsula on 17 - 18 May. Included in the report is a link to some of the photos I took.
