FWIW, I've learned a lesson about square filter holders such the Cokin ones.

I used to use one on the Zuiko lenses on my Olympus OM10 SLR, 52mm threaded adapter etc.. No problem, just slip in the filter, then focus and zoom and snap away. Easy, because the front of the lens doesn't rotate.

But now I'm using a D50 with a kit lens, and it's all hassle because the front of the lens needs to rotate to focus. Not very useful if using a grad filter or a CPL. Cheap lenses, eh?

:-(

BG,
that shouldn't be a problem at all, I just screw it on lightly, gently keep the mounmt between fingers while focussing and the lens rotates in the holder. Never had any problems doing that.

If only I had bigger hands, Bob. My fingertips can't reach the holder when the body is on my palm.
Also, it's fiddly doing a manual focus when the holder is attached. Adjusting a threaded CPL can be fun in manual focus mode, too.

Thanks anyway.
