PS I've been running in Innov*fell shoes ssince they first came out, I have some alpkit poles and I think TGO is shite. Does that make me a troll?
No, that's not what makes you a troll. What makes you a troll is that you like to post your opinions in a deliberately provocative manner, and to distort what people have said in an attempt to wind them up and cause an argument. You know that already, though. It's pretty childish stuff, and I'm a bit surprised it entertains you, but each to their own etc.

i think its a shame that people can't just admit they do a bit of trolling. i certainly have on occasion, but i've not like created an ID and gone off on a trolling spree since i left university four years ago; however i do often try and bait individuals who behave like trolls and you can get some interesting and unexpected responses, good and bad, and err just plain wierd (if plain wierd is actually feasible?)

Harry, I've been using Paramo since it first appeared. I worked as a ski tour leader for a decade, 3 months a year, mostly in Norway, in every sort of weather, and found Paramo the best clothing for this. I live in the Scottish Highlands and Paramo is my first choice in clothing for the hills between October and April. My writing is based on my experience. I would be dishonest if I said anything other than I find Paramo excellent.

A bit of 'trolling' if we take the definition of deliberately posting material designed to provoke (as opposed to the more extreme end of offensive posting) is part of any healthy forum, a bit of devil's advocate. Nobody minds a bit of harmless 'troll', there's been a few examples recently (Cameron, is he a troll?). I think we're mostly mature enough to deal with this as part and parcel of the whole.
But repetition of that trolling, the same point over and over does start getting tedious and people get fed up with it. We will all disagree, there would hardly be the activity on the forum if we didn't. But sometimes it's time to agree to disagree and not try and force one's own opinions on others, or repeat same argument over and over in the hope that others will eventially agree.

Just seen this thread- and getting back to the original problem of the jackets lining almost 'reversing' - I bought an Aspira last year and when I finally tried it it absorbed water quicker than a sponge (which wasn't pleasant in an 70 mph wind on top of Cadair Idriss in November)
To cut a long story short, after some arm twisting I got it returned (had to persuade them that it was not my responsibility to re-proof it if it had never been worn before) they took it back and realised it had never been proofed in the factory.
I was told that this one one of a handful of times in the last ten years this had happened - interesting to know that its happened to someone else.
Actually I still feel damp in it as its so hot I sweat bucket (yes I know its a winter jacket before anyone says).
I'm sure its fine for some- but not for me.Anyone want to buy iy? XL in red/slate?

Harry, Bad analogy. The betamax was considered by almost every knowledgeable audio-visual electronics pundit of the time to be a superior system to VHS. In fact, due to its superior quality, it formed the basis for professional video news gathering world wide up until a few years ago and saw off all challengers. It was also, and largely still is, the basis of most industrial and health care diagnostic video recording systems. JVC just had a much better consumer marketing strategy than Sony, a strategy which was more responsive to market demands. There was also the evergreen issue of Sony's manufacturing licensing policy based on proprietary protectionist narrow mindedness and pure greed. No change there then. By your example, any TNF jacket would be considered superior to any eVENT jacket. Successful marketing means one thing. You have a great promo team.
BTW, I'm looking for a new anorak ..................preferably in Paramo.

Having followed this thread I decided that the only way to respond to it was to...................go and buy another paramo top (explorer in black). Thanks for your help Harry in helping me to buy more paramo ;-)))))

I think I recall Harry causing numerous amounts of arguments on the forum in the past, but I could be wrong though for sure, nothing wrong with stating an opinion but if you go looking for a fight well what do you expect, a cup of tea or something for your efforts?
And off he walks into the sunset with a I hate Paramo sticker on his head, geesh does anyone really care whether he likes it or not.....
