The long awaited TGOC podcasts haven't started appearing yet ... but I just noticed that there's a new Podcast available about Steve Perry's next challenge - or more precisely next 10 challenges, in 10 days.

another new podcast on the outdoors station, not listened yet

the blurb on my rss says:
"This is a great podzine hosted by Andy Howell where he talks at great length to Colin Ibbotson (the lightest man on the recent TGO Challenge) and Roman Ackl (lighthiker from Germany) about the ethos, mindset and gear for successful lightweight hiking in Northern Europe."

The first TGO 2007 Challenge is now launched.

Sorry I seem to be having technical problems getting them onto The Outdoors Station, however they can be found on iTunes.

There's also been a few loading issues with the host server.

Please bear with me.....

Thanks Bob. Thoroughly enjoyed that as usual.

Oooh - excellent news Bob! Look forward to listening.

Really enjoyed the first one.
Thanks Gayle, I'll be releasing the next few shortly .... meanwhile ...

Just finished the mammoth edit of podcasts from the big trade fair at Friedrichshafen last weekend (don't want to get too left behind by Trail, TGO and co!) and they are now uploaded into iTunes ready for listening on The Outdoors Station.

I'm just going to update TOS website and get them all on there for easy access.

Who did we interview? Well in no particular order ...

Body Glide re their product range
Brian Vargo re titanium cooking gear
Klattermusen re the two awards and their company
Blue Desert products re a strange liquid vile and drinking tubes
Square Peg re Care Plus and tick based/medical products
Sat Map re the unique GPS system (very cool!)
Silk Body re silk base layers (very comfy!)
Sprayway re Julie Greengrass new designs
Tot Seat re a compact high chair for tots
Eberhard Gooble re trekking umbrellas
Golite re Coups new tents and foot range ...
oh .. and famous blogger Lighthiker Roman Ackl from Germany

Part One here
Part Two here
Part Three here

Hope you enjoyed the Friedrichshafen series? Feedback always helpful.

And for those people who have been clambering for the next part in the TGOC series, you can find part three here.

I'm going to have a lie down now. Too many late nights ....
Oh and I've started a YouTube channel as well. So when I can, I'll be dumping videos on there too.

Just working out the best codecs to use and so far the results are proving that decent quality is possible.

It can be found here
Parts three four and five of the TGOC now live on iTunes and the BPl website.

All can be found here.
Bob the F Show was great listening. Variable interest, but you did cover a lot of ground and product/personality. Personally I felt the approach worked

Thnaks for the time and effort once more

Yeah, thnaks from me too.

For those following the epic tale of two podcasters.

Parts 6 and 7 of the TGOC can now be found Podcast page.

Looks like it will be a 15 part jobby before it is all over ....

a 15 part jobby

That means something completely different to me. Reminds me of the morning after a curry ...I'll stop there.

Sorry

Can somebody explain what a pod cast is please - just briefly will do. I though it was a music  thing but I am probably confusing that with an ipod (whatever that is).

Thanks in anticipation

The most common podcast style is a recorded radio show. Many have their own websites, where you can just click on the link to download and play the show on your own computer.

The next step for many people is to get a system like iTunes to download the latest shows to a portable player so that you can listen to the shows on the go. Commuters find this useful, as they can listen to podcasts about foreign languages, history, comedy, computer technology, or whatever floats their boat.

The portable player doesn't have to be an iPod, and you don't have to use iTunes.

Podcasts have allowed people to create a lot of interesting programmes, and once out on the Internet, people can grab them in their own good time.

And yes, you can get music podcasts too. Also video podcasts.
