... I'm on a Mac, and I was using Safari. Changed to Firefox, and I get the full toolbar! Not sure if it is Safari's or the website's fault... I've raised this with the site previously - it's just not coded properly to run on Safari, but they're working on it. Camino works fine. Might have to try your workaround solution, though Camino does get the job done ...

Field & Trek no longer show the Akto on line at the special price of £225. Having researched long and hard between the two, I have decided to buy the Akto - for its true 4 season performance, regardless of the debate about condensation. Apart from second hand models on E Bay, where can this be purchased at a very competative price?
 Alpenstock.
good guys at Alpenstock.....got my Soulo from there
I second the good feedback on Alpenstock (Jose is the person to speak to). They're doing the Akto at £255 right now.
Sweet Jesus - now they're arguing over the bloody prices... Hmmm....Alan Bates and Oliver Reed in 'Women in Love' - what a cultured fellow you are, ed h. Rumour has it that on set Oliver Reed was, er, 'relaxing in a gentleman's way' between takes to avoid any unfavourable comparison with Alan Bates. Not sure where this fits in with fb and Matt locking horns - better not go there.

150g for a LC spinnaker footprint? Mine weighs 75g Just for the sake of point labouring and pedantry, I bought one of the above:
It weighed 84g not 75g. Walter - you had better recalculate!!!
Nae chance! I had to put my head in the fridge for an hour to cool down after all those sums.
From now on, just make up your own figures... Besides, I camp high, so I should work out what the weight of the kit is like at 3000 feet...

Now a column of air 300 ft above MSL calculated with a base QNH at 1010 mb at............................. damn it!
You are all missing the point; Jake said I was cultured Hmmm....Alan Bates and Oliver Reed in 'Women in Love' - what a cultured fellow you are, ed h
Aye, but he thinks me and fb are arguing so he clearly lacks judgement!

Yeah yeah.....
Move on.....nothing to see hear.....move on now.....

Are we all done here now? BTW I've got both the TN Laser Comp and the Hilleberg Akto. Personally, I prefer the Akto as it has much more room, is easier to pitch tight and seems to be much more stable. All this for minimal additional weight over the TN. Oh, what have I done... LEEEEEAVE IT, fb, HE'S NOT WORF IT!! Anyhoo - each to his (or her) own, brother (or sister).
"All this for minimal additional weight over the TN." Err,........ noooooooooooo, stop it, now!!
Unrelated to the product, but interesting... For the other thing that I do I'm always looking for info, is there updates or changes to spec or weight etc. Terra Nova reply right away by mail or phone. Hilleberg say...nothing.
Interesting. That's not my experience at all. Hilleberg have always answered questions as to new products being developed etc. or any other questions related to their tents. I have three of their tents, and every time I needed advice, tips etc. Ken has always been really helpful and prompt with his replies. Maybe they don't reply to you because they fear whatever they say will end up on your blogs the day after... Terra Nova too have been always very helpful and prompt in their replies. So from where I sit, it's another tie...
Hilleberg have always replied same day to any questions I've asked.
 Me too.
Another case of never having a problem getting an answer from Hilleberg when I've wanted to double-check something. Last case was last week, had an email answering all my questions back within hours. As for the Akto vs. LC thing, for single hoop tents personally I prefer my Spacepacker to either of those one-door, one porch johnny-come-lately efforts... (lucky I'm not that tall though...) Pete.
Interesting again. They'll have their reasons for not replying I'm sure. It is enlightening when I'm doing research who is interested and who isn't in giving you information. I usually assume it carries over into customer care, maybe not in Hillebergs case though. If somebody has a contact other than a generic one feel free to send me it.
