I've always used the generic tentmaker@ thingie actually. Maybe one shouldn't discount the possibility of an overzealous spam filter latching on to something in your address or message body (things like the 'star' in your nickname...) and filtering your innocent query away into oblivion... Or maybe they read the bit where you called the Akto a condensation shower cubicle...

Nah. my emails to companies are all official in tone and I use a specific grown-ups email address. That's the same Hilleberg email I use as well.

Ah well.

I, too, just used the tentmaker@hilleberg.se, and that was where the reply came from.

As for criticising, while in the Coruisk hut at the weekend I was flicking through the traditional pile of old mags, and one TGO of a few years ago had Chris Townsend giving the (now discontinued) Hilleberg Niak a bit of a roasting.  Doesn't seem to have opened a gulf between Chris and Hilleberg...

Pete.

Interesting. That's not my experience at all. Hilleberg have always answered questions as to new products being developed etc. or any other questions related to their tents. I have three of their tents, and every time I needed advice, tips etc. Ken has always been really helpful and prompt with his replies.

Maybe they don't reply to you because they fear whatever they say will end up on your blogs the day after...

Terra Nova too have been always very helpful and prompt in their replies.

So from where I sit, it's another tie...

As previously discussed Dave there is very little in it by my calculation , and what difference there is, is worth it for all the additional features and security.

Not talking about it any more.
