Been flicking through TRAIL in an idle half hour (which means that it's effectively been read from cover to cover) and came across the nom de plumes of at least 2 OM members I recognised (thanks to the Bargain alert thread).
So I throw open the challenge to you all, state the page numbers where 'ptc' and 'moggy' are made mention, it's a fun game for all the family.
The prize? The satisfaction of a job well done - or a Tesco computers for schools voucher.

I am indeed well Trailed this month. They quote me in the 'Lightweight Lakes' article as well. I have launched a tirade against the article on their forum. I was very annoyed by it's blanket negativety and apparently delibarately skewed view of lightweight backpacking.
You'll also be able to spot fastandlight for bonus points :o)

ptc - Glad this its not just me thought that article left something something to be desired then
Here is my thread on the subject. It's more lenient than we would be on OM :o)
That's a nice photo on your thread ptc, you can't beat nights like that on the top.

Aye Steve, the only trouble is lining up the Laserlite with the wind direction :o)
You probably do all this already ptc:- If it's windy when your pitching it, hoop the pole through then put a peg in one of the very ends of the tent and let the wind line it up for you.. then peg out. The head to feet direction was best for the wind running over it the smoothest I found. If you hold the tent into the wind it will naturally line up that way. Obviousley you have to account for wind cycloning around mountain cols etc. Personally, whilst camping in the mountains I tend to pitch one man tents behind things (Knolls and boulders etc) if I'm unsure of the weather.
That's exactly what I do Steve. At the ends of the Laselite I use the big Alpkit aluminium stakes, it makes this manoever really easy. I still use the carbon pegs, which everybody hates, for the other guy points though. Earplugs are always handy as well, it's a rattly bugger.
Same thing myself... if I'm using the Tarp Tent I just let the wind decide the direction of pitch.
Only once has it been too windy to pitch the thing, and I just bivvied instead. Mind you, that was on a nice South Cal mountain under clear skies and in very warm air, no doubt heated by all the vee-hickles in LA which was less than 100 miles away.
In the TT I always sleep feet into the wind cos I reckon that gives me an extra micro second to grab the fabric if a big gust is otherwise going to rip the tent away from me!

Damn ive been spotted ...was hoping no one would see it or realise it was me lol
Yeah right Moggy, I heared you ordered one of those Trails with yourself on the front and then started swapping them out at your local WH Smiths!

PML that TGO have an article on car camping.
It's a world turned upside down. :)
Duncan, just been car camping at the Backpacker's Club AGM! It happens! & I had some gear I would be unlikely to take backpacking.
 *g
I was too, but I was too lazy to take more things from the car boot than my Atmos50.
Q "where you hiked in from, mate?" A "err, that car over there"
New TGO mag arrived today....rubbish. Probably the thinnest edition for a while, and it kept me 'enthralled' for 15 mins in break this afternoon. I gave it away to someone at school as there was nothing I wanted to keep for reference.

They have a view of my favouritist valley in there. Glen Ey, seen from the top of An Socach. When Andy gets the bloggers podcast done, it is mentioned in my origin backstory.
Hmm...why did Chris Claremont's name flashed to my mind there. s'late. boing.
