I've been looking for some new lightweight boots recently and been somewhat dissapointed by the lack of any such boots with an agressive sole, they all seem to be glorified trainers and lack a pronounced heel which is a feature I very much like. Why oh why oh why can I not find a decent lightweight boot with a commando style sole?

The Scarpa Peak M2 has a pretty aggressive sole unit, not sure if they're lightweight enough.

In that case I have a couple of pairs of Combat Assault Boots you are welcome to if you are a size 8, or if you fancy getting posh a pair of GoreTex lined Pro Boots.

I get my combat assault boots free, which is a good job as the soles tend to split or delaminate all too often. Might need some desert boots shortly!

Buy them yourself!
I could have used them just over a decade ago but by the time they were sent to theatre they only got as far as the RLC weeds!

I presume the first post got a bit lost in the post - nothing to do with mugs and very little to do with Commando Soles either - still better than working.

Wasn't having a go Mark, its just that at the top it says "Cooking, eating & drinking \ Mugs" and that don't seem relevant forBoots. Was wondering if the site was having a New Year breadown, or if it was me!

Maybe a solution to the why is a boot question in the 'Cooking, eating & drinking \ Mugs' section!?

I prefer the look of the kettle as an all in one solution anyway!
