Zips can be a nuisance, but I've not had anything trapped in my fly zipper

I'm a recent Paramo convert and have a couple of questions about their trousers. Are the Cascada totally waterproof - ie can you site or kneel on wet ground, say when setting up a tent or adjusting boots. Are the Feura trousers basically the same material as the smocks. And finally, does anyone own a recent version of the Merapi trousers - I heard that the design was suspect due to not being made in the normal factory. Any comments welcome!

cascada waterproof? yes in the sense that they keep you dry, like all paramo. another stupid thing i've fuera trousers - yes. double thickness knees. i'd be interested in the merapi too if they've changed it. fabulous fabric. review

Thanks Parky. I guess it comes down to either having a slightly damp bum / knees that then dry out quickly. Or being initially very dry, but then soaked from sweat and never dry out.

Actually I think it comes down to not kneeling in a puddle in the first place

it seems that lots of people enjoy doing just that though davidg. i think those nasty gases/vapours given off by membranes make them do it. i do it because 1. i'm stupid 2. i like splashing through puddles, and i can (not getting shouted at or clipped about the ear for doing so) 3. why not. <wibble, wibble, twoink>

Rocky, Re Merapi trousers and Parky's review. With my experience of them I totally agree with Parky about the material being extremely comfortable and for that reason it may be worth trying then to see how you feel the fit is. Probablt the most comfortable trousers I own. I also wish the back pocket was larger. I was also initally aware of the articulated knee bits rubbing but I don't notice it now. I have not noticed any problems with the belt. I guess that this may just be pot luck on how well they fit you (as with any other garment). I have just been a bit luckier with these than Parky in this instance. HTH

Zip pulls are the one thing I've never thought of in a hateful way. Elasticated draw cords are another matter - they are magnetized to be attracted to doorknobs, in fact anything stickyouty.
