Having just watched the natural world program on BBC i-player at the recomendation of some one on here thaught it might be an idea to have a tv guide so people can recomend programs to watch out for...

OH and prefferably outdoors related programs not East enders or such like....

Cheers

On another thread we were chatting abiout a new "Ray Mears World of Survival" type series coming out on the BBC hopefully this march/april time! The Ben Fogle things are always worth a watch too!

http://travel.independent.co.uk/americas/article3349086.ece link to artice about Ben on his travels of lately to Venezuela's Lost World jungle area!

It will not now be much longer till our big Bear Grylls is back on Channel 4 again, with his updated Born Survivor outings too!

There's that prog on tonight is it, about being spiritual on Dartmoor on BBC2. I'll be travelling, so will miss it. iPlayer should be useful.

Not sure if they have bbc Scotland yet, so some people can catch the Adventure Show who don't have a SKY box they can retune. Also some of the Gaelic progs on BBC Alba may interest non-speakes like me.

Don't forget "Out of Doors" on Radio Scotland.

Duncan, can't find the Adventure show anywhere on Sky and as you state it may be on iplayer it won't show until after the programme.  If we're going to run a tv thread we need the programme name, time and channel etc to help please.

By the way, I've been using iplayer recently just allowing it to stream and its brilliant. I think the others are following suit so should make watching missing programmes easier.

How about Deadliest Climbs, Tuesdays at 10pm on Discovery.  Its the second series.  Although it still has that annoying Yank in it. You know, the huge I can do anything one. Lets see if he gets to the top this time. (not saying that I would)

Can't get gardening channel unless I pay more so am missing out on wilderness walks so if anyone has copies they would lend that would be wonderful.

Simon, I'll try and remember to post here next time the Adventure Show is due on.

Prog link

Not to be confused with The Adventure Game

Time Team is on Barra tonight (the island, not the place in Glasgow).

Concealed on the BBC iPlayer/Radio/Radio Scotland is "BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra..." which was last night's performance of:

Ronald Stevenson's epic "In Praise of Ben Ardrain" [Sic], based on the poem by Duncan Ban McIntyre.

I caught some of it in my car last night. Not my cup of irn bru. I'll need to catch the whole thing for completeness sake. Some good lilting bits in it, but nothing I could tap my feet to and go "heuch".

For those of you who love to see bits of Dartmoor still, there is a very good repeat of a show on later today! That is if any prior service in the MOD has not put any of you off the area in question! So it is BBC2 6.10pm-7.00pm tonight, and it is Natural World-Eploring Dartmoor's ancient woods and rivers! Great!!

Just watching the start of Ski Sunday on BBC2 7pm Sunday and it looks as though Graham Bell is going to be doing some bits on the mountains (possibly over the course of the series). Just talking about Roubion and Briancon in the Alpes now.

Looks as though it's going to be a 5-10 minute segment each week, may be a bit touristy, but could be interesting.

Well, hasn't Ski Sunday changed? Worth a look each Sunday evening for the next couple of months. For all of Dad's badgering over the years (to no avail) ten minutes of TV & they want to go now!

Re the Ray Mears books and tv series upcoming for 2008, including the new Australian Walkabout trip he did, see the OM Australia Kit thread link I have put in for some details given on the Waterstones online website-where the two new 2008 books are advertised with expected upcoming publication dates. The OZ trip one sure looks like it willl be really very good indeed!!
