Jon - very pretty "Ignore member function" -any limit on the total here? (He says ducking for for cover)
Test ickle test

The 'New Post' thingy's not working in Camino either now.
The quote thing still isn't working for me (IE), also the message continues to pop-up even when I tick the box asking it not to. yes, i have cleared the cache and refreshed the page.

 > Oh, wow, there's a 'Print thread' option!!
Err... Kate, there's always been a 'print thread' option.
Only now it seems to have dropped the 100 posts limit...
Hoorah!
(although just when I'd written a script to convert saved pages to print format...)
Ah. it still has a limit, only I'm not sure what it is...
Right; it's 500 posts. That'll enable me to save some otherwise incomplete threads...
As for the quoting thing; the trouble with these systems is that people are often lazy, and leave the whole message trail when they quote. Which gets hideously complicated and space-gobbling.
It's not as bad as those disgusting BB forums where they track thread side-branches, and quote every damned character; they do my head in...

If Huge Waistcoat one day calls back in, one can simply ignore him.

And where is it stored? So that I can un-ignore people if I relent...
(in the cookie?)
ps. I see the cookie still contains the member's password, in clear.
Very bad from a security point-of-view, especially when logging on away from home.

I asked about unignoring people earlier but I think it got lost in the wash as it were. Still, I like the new insert photo option - makes it much easier
Where's the 'insert photo' option then?
It's the box with the tree in it, Ian. Why a tree should be indicative of the opportunity to insert a photo I don't know, but anyway, just click it.
There's no quote button on the edit toolbar when I use Firefox and the insert picture button requires a URL so how do we insert a picture from, say, paint?

Wel let's see if the post notification works then. I haven't had a "topic reply" e-mail for ages!
The ignore member thing sounds a bit worrying. Isn't there a risk that we end up with a forum where everyone thinks they're the only one here? I'd have thought the page down key works just as well without overcomplicating/confusing/de-democratising the forums.
Mal, that happened to me; I cleared all the private data (from the tools menu) twice, and then it all worked. I'm not saying that it'll work for you, or suggesting that you haven't tried that already. It just worked for me!

If you do Ignore Member they appear in a list under My Forum - with an Un-Ignore button against their name so you can put them back again. While you're ignoring them their posts disappear from any thread you view and the number of posts shown for the thread reduces. It does work - I tried it on someone (not saying who!) - but I really fail to see the point of it. Hmm, I wonder, if they started a thread, would the thread not appear, or only once someone else posted on it? Bizarre...

Just tried the ignore thing - if they started a thread then the whole thread dissapears - even if other people have posted on it. Shame you can't quote selected bits of texts in a post rather than the whole post.

 Thanks Kate

This ignore member business is a chat room thing and will encourage all sorts of pettiness. Did anyone actually ask for it?
Richard, you can cut down the quote once it's in your message box, like this ^^
I see the notify is still not working for me. Neither is the quote thingy
It's the box with the tree in it, Ian But that was there before. Not in Safari, but with Camino, Firefox, and IE (on work PC) was definitely there before
