It's only a week to go now, and I thought it was about time we began a thread so we can come out with the usual banter from the usual suspects WALES!!! And here's something which is irrelevant but fun:
Well I guess you'll have to wait until the second game to start your points tally then.
i'll second that for wales. and scotland. they always entertain me before they have the customary few minutes disintegration and destroy all the good work. england - don't care. had far, far too much total blx during a certain tournament. ireland like to surprise and disappoint in equal measure. and france are just mad.......don't thrill as much as they used to in the dark distant days but always worth watching to watch the discipline slowly ebb away.

Hey, don't forget gli Azzurri! They've got Scotland at home the last weekend which could be a tough one for the Scots.
Hey Kate Don't buy any of that Kiwi flour - you'll end up choking too! Geddit!!!!? Is a very unsettled SN this year. The form book has been torn up since the last one. Makes it all the more fun then! Next week is just going to feel like its going so slowly!

 pmsl, Max!!!

And I've just remembered the translation of Tony's new name. 'Black Shadow'. It all begins to add up.
<yawns stretches picks nose scratches backside> Is it that time of year already Kate? About time I came out of hibernation and check the fridge for beer.

Five days to go and still no predictions. Did the RWC cure others , as well as me, of the habit of making forecasts which turn out to have very little connection with reality and make the predictor look stoopid? Well here's my forecast. It will be an extremely interesting 6 Nations and like all 'post RWC' years will produce some surprise results. We will see some very good Rugby and the emergence of a few very talented newcomers to the international game. Who will win? Well I hope England but I predict nothing.
I probably fancy France but id be surprised if anyone does a grand slam this year.As for England we done well in the w/c which means we,ll get stuffed by second rate teams like Wales but our excuse will be that were building for the next w/c. Ireland should still be smarting from there awful w/c so they will be V dangerous? Scotland/Wales , big competion there for the wooden spoon. Italy, mid table.

For the sake of Northern hemisphere rugby, and not the only reason: . . . . England.
Well I have to say that to predict any outcome on this year's festivities, particularly the opening weekend is pure lunacy, or sheer heart and not head.
This year is probably one of the most unpredictable of six nations tournaments for years.
Get the first weekend out of the way, and we might have some idea of how the ball will roll. Untill then it is the heart that yearns, not the head that dictates!
Hi 'All Black Shadow(Grand Slam once-upon -a-time)'. Is this the first time that neither of us is either optimistic OR pessimistic in advance? I agree with what you say except that there will still be some surprises to come after the first weekend. I suspect it will be a championship of mixed results for everybody.

Wouldn't doubt that Frum. Gatland has been very reticent since taking over, unlike his predecessor, so even those "in the Know" don't really know what has been going on behind closed doors. Wales has a 22 year old mountain to climb, which probably isn't a good omen for us, but after an appalling RWC for the Northern hemisphere save for the run by the “old Enemy,” let us hope that the “tightness” of the restrictive “I don’t want to make a mistake” type of game be abandoned in favour of the old exciting and expansive game that we came to know and love!
BTW Frum, your suggestion that we should turn out in Black?
Already been done mate, last time we beat the Aussies, which in fairness REALLY upset them!;)
And that had NOTHING to do with the Kiwis, it was the kit sponsors Reebok colour that they insisted on as the “away” strip.
England still using that wonderfull shade of blood red as their away kit then? ;)
