I was once ripped off with a customs charge on an Ebay second hand outdoors survival kit item purchased from the USA, and did not manage to have the charge overturned even on appeal! It is all just swings and roundabouts really, as no import tax was paid on all the new outdoors kit that I brought back from the USA in my suitcases on my last visit of a few years ago back. I have only ever had a few problems really with things bought through the post from the States by internet purchases. Most stuff that came through in the pre-paid courier envelopes from the States arrived here just fine! With the possible exception of a seizure of a Cold Steel outdoors survival Kukri blade! I still can't complain much really I suppose!
