Most of my climbing partners are a bit of a drive away.

Any climbers out there in the Swansea area want to meet up some time mail me.

I climb all over  but localy the Gower and indoors at Dynamic Rock, sometimes at the WIC and LLangors.

Three cliffs is one of my fave places on earth. I dont climb high grades but I do enjoy it and I dont feel I know enough climbers in my own area.

I saw this and was going to suggest our Jules in Pontardawe, then I saw it was you Jules!

LOL, Tony I climb on twins, I am not one.

Jules, I've climbing a little in the area outside, mainly up Merthyr way at Morlais but I have done a couple of other areas.  See my profile on UKClimbing.  Nothing down the Gower but would like to try some.

New to this really only a couple of years.

Have been to Dynamic Rock and WIC but not Langors.

Maybe we could encourage Kate to try it

Um, I'd have to lose a wee bit of the extra weight first. No point in trying to haul more pounds than you need to up a cliff!

Hey Kate,  I went climbing with Max a week ago so no excuses.

Simon we should meet up some time if you like.

I've recently done the basic course at Dynamic Rock and would like to improve and venture outside.  I'm far too old and inflexible to be doing anything too serious but would like a go.

Slabs are good if you dont want to get you leg by your ear. More delicate balancy stuff. Plenty of that round here.

I dont climb any high grade stuff, Its more about enjoyment for me than anything else.

Does anyone fancy meeting up sometime then. Maybe the cafe at Dynamic rock one eve and see what people want to do?

The tides are good for climbing the gower over this bank hol weekend but the weather forcast looks dodgy for Sat at least.

But then the Gower dont normally take too much notice of the weather forcast.

Hello there,Been meaning to get myself down to dynamic rock in clydach for a while now,it looks like a pretty cool place.I have done a very small amount of climbing many moons ago(maybe 18 years or so ago) and recently decided it would be a good idea to maybe give it a try again and learn some basic ropework so if anybody in the south/west wales area has the knowhow and patience to teach me then I'd gladly accept the offer, whether on an indoor wall or some easier graded outdoor pitches.I scramble regularly,so see climbing as the net logical step.

Hey Jules, you're from pontardawe eh? I'm from the swansea valley originally(ystalyfera) but now live in carmarthenshire.Regularly out walking on the black mountain and carmarthen fans.

One of my commutes to one of my many places of work means I have to drive over the black Mountain, beats the traffic jams in to Leeds I used to do every day.

You have to pick your evening with Dynamic Rock as its getting very popular. Fridays are quietish.

Taran Mail me, I think your " mail me" facility is off

Maybe should organise this one day or evening.

Prefer outside as views nicer normally.

I have been to Wyntors (? sp) leap today in the lower Wye Valley for the first time, stunning place, will be going back there again.

When do you suggest Simon. I am free tomorow and then after that the next 3 weekends are busy due to holidays

There lots of light in the evenings at the moment though.

Looking at the calender, I may be around on weekend of 31 May/1 June but will need to check nothing planned.

I'll post later to confirm then we just need to set a location and timings etc.

That weekend would suit me aswell.

Thats good, how about the others, is that weekend ok.

As stated I'd prefer outside but we can have a fall back plan for clydach if the weathers bad.

How does that sound, also going to the Gower would be good for me as I've never climbed there.

As an 'other', I hope I'd be able to get away for a bit, but I don't think I'll be climbing. Depends on what the plan is & whether there might be a walk for me instead of a climb. Or if it ends up being Clydach I might consider a taster session: I'll talk to the chiropractor when I see him on fri and see what he thinks about climbing and my knees!

Nothing planned myself for that weekend yet, whatever is decided,I'm quite happy to go along with it.

I am off on my holidays tomorrow so when i get back in about 10 days we can make some arrangements. Depends  on the tides and the weather exactly what.
