So so so so so so sorry but we won't be coming now as I've got a ticket to watch United at Wembley on the Sunday in the Community Shield. I'm sorry AT, I'm torn between the two but I had already promised someone I'd go the shield and I ain't been to the new Wembley yet to watch the reds. Ruddy shame as I was looking forward to the meet.

Sorry folks but for various reasons it looks like Rach and I are not ging to be able to  make this meet either.

Sorry Kate as I was looking forward to helping you remove "your virginity"

No doubt will see you around in N Wales  some time

That's a pity Frank - I'm guessing that if you don't get someone from here to take the room you will be cancelling it.  So if anyone wants a midge free room I suggest you contact Frank asap!

Mad Jim - hope your "maybe" becomes a "definite"!

MoS and I are more hopeful of making this now, but not sure quite what form it'll take yet, as in camp, wildcamp, b&b, bunkroom etc., or quite when we'd be able to travel up.

(watch this space......)

Have cancelled room at the Blackwater Hostel, so if you want it Matt go for it

Aye, go on Matt, be a wimp for once and go for the midgie free option!  You know you want to!

There's no midges at 1000m. You know you want to

I'm not very hopeful of making it. I aggravated an existing injury last week-end on the hill. My 2 week wander looks as if it's a no-no. Walking is very painful right now. I might make it up for a 'social' visit. May as well be merry at 1000m as sea-level.

Edited to say that the reason i've been on here so much this week is that i'm off work with my injury. Boredom, beer and a pc!

LOL ptc*!

Sorry to hear that Mike - hopefully you'll make it for a beer or two!

Is anyone still wild-camping? ptc*/bbf/matt any plans?... Not sure if I have a Cunning Plan or a stupid one. I have justification of sorts to buy a tent and a (decent) sleeping bag. And a train ticket to FortBill wont break the bank. But I dont fancy my first wild camp (well at least not since I was a kid) on my own!

I'll be up high in the "midge free room with a view". Not sure where yet though but deffo wild camping on the Fri but might spend the Sat on the campsite as I'll have to be away earlyish on the Sun morn to make work on Sun night. Also I'm pretty sure I'd like a pint or two on the Sat night. After all, whats the point in going to an OM meet if there's no socialising?

Show/hide user stats

I'll be in a tent, up there somewhere. Is socialising the bit when you say "Night night" followed by the sound of a sleeping bag zip being done up from your solo tent? That may be just me though...

My mate Craig of F&L looks 50/50 to attend (something about Kate's feet...) and will wild camp with me.

They're 7.5, ptc*.

I'd love to meet someone with a surname starting with Z!!

I have lots of relatives called Zawislak, Kate, so I could possibly help.  But I'm not sure where they all are.

Usually, yes. If the purpose of the meet is to put faces to names, then a wee dram wouldn't go amiss.

Socialising eh, dangerous activity that, but a necessary evil of OM meets!

Double spacing sorted just for ptc*!  I could tell you how to do it but I'd have to kill you!

Show/hide user stats

Ah ooh. A Wee Dram, that is a good idea (wanders off to see what's in the stash).

Pubs are not really my thing so a wild camp or two would suit me just fine if someone doesn't mind me tagging along...

It's looking like I might drive up as the trains from daan saaf are less than optimal, and it means I could then move about and spread my time out up there a bit.

Don't worry Beth the pubs in Kinlochleven are not like normal pubs Then again we do have to experience the local pub for local people at some point over the weekend  to catch up with the ferret

Will you be bringing the dog Beth?
