They released a new album this year ID - 'CSI Ambleside', which I've not heard yet. Still catching up with the 50-odd Peel Session tracks I recently acquired

Radio 1 with radio4. That's what I am listening to. That and Lakeland and Abbey radio when in reception areas (not very big areas).

Of course I like the Goldfrapp vid. Trevor was one of those dancing guys you? Is that what bushcraft is about? Can you imagine it a bunch of guys out shooting deer when along come Goldfrapp and they suddenly get taken over by the lilting music. That is one way to stop blood sports.

And Diddy, orange tent, must be you. Did you later hold the tent flap open for her like a true gentleman?

On my flash drive for work and on my creative zen mp3 player (anything but I-pood), I've got anything from Pogues to Cash (man called Sue is so funny). Rah Diggah to Tracey Ullman!! I have just ripped a load of free cds from papers with titles like Indie cool. I also got a free strange days by the doors. It makes for a very strange random playlist. Oh, a lot of The Clash, Stiff Little Fingers, some Buzzcocks and other "old School" punk. Since when did the originals in a particular musical style become old school? How long before take that get called old school boy band?

To the oringinal poster - The presidents are a good blast from the past. What are they doing now? Have you heard of The The? Utah saints are good. They re-released recently didn't they? Still remember (vaguely) a drunken BBQ where Utah Saints was played. Led to the refrain with the name of the band on it being shouted out for the rest of the night. Good night! Good Band!

Kids are driving me mad playing the mama mia d.v.d everyday.

As for me I usually listen to absolute radio which use to be Virgin radio.Bit to many old songs and adverts but struggling to find a similiar station with no adverts. In fact im a bit fed up with radio stations.

Last c.d i bought was latest snow patrol which is o.k

Just put in an order for the following aural treats (my belated birthday present from me!):

(album / artist)
Upsyde Downe - Flooting Grooves
Birth/Re-Birth - Orchid Star
De-Classified - Eat Static
Back to Earth - Eat Static
Viceversa - Mauxuam
The Powers That Beep - ZubZub
Fourthought - OOOD
About Time - Ishq
We Share the Same Dreams - Abakus
And So It Goes - Kaya Project
Calibrate Your Intuition - Youth
And The Beat Goes Om - Slackbaba

Hands up if you recognise any of those! Oh well, nothing like being in a niche market...

My recent listening has been a bit more eclectic though. Some highlights of the last few days being (artist /album):
Anthoine de Bernard - Amours de Ronsard (French classical)
Duffy - Rockferry (I like this more than I expected to, but within reason!)
Ravi Shankar & Philip Glass - Passages
The Delta - Schizoeffective

I've decided this year, as a John Denver fan and official member of FOJD - Friends of John Denver - that I would have some Christmas music of his to play, so have ordered his Christmas music cd. I usually resist Christmas music like the plague, except the occasional radio hit classic thing, but this year I feel like a change!

Well defo some peeps no one else on here seems to be listnening to at the mo; fleet foxes (baroque pop, their words) and nitin Sawhney (jazzy, upbeat, world music, my terrbile description) are both getting overplayed by me at the minute, which means I'll have to stop listening to them for a bit. Nitin Sawhney at the electric prom's is amazing if you can find it!!

MGMT and Cinematic Orchestra are also just brilliant, cinematic orchestra is great for chilling to.

Thought the thread could do with some more "recent" and more obscure acts in it. Most things on "later with Jool's Holland"is usually excellent (some of it is just pure rash though), Rev Al Green was looking/sounding great on it a couple weeks back. Doesnt seem to be on Iplayer anymore, whcih i don't get, can't see the series having finishing already?
