I'm confused! Happens a lot.

I think that IMHO = in my humble opinion

Things like 'roflmao' and 'pmsl' are an utterly foreign language to me! I know that lol means something is meant to be taken lightheartedly but I don't actually know what lol stands for.....

There are others too but i can't think of them just now.

Please take pity and enlighten me on the above as well as any other commonly used shortcuts.

Thanks

lol = laugh out loud Nick. Until about a year and a half or so back ago this was all practically a foreign language to me too matey! So don't worry, your're likely not alone in this, as we literally do learn things everyday don't we! I didn't know half of those things till either FB or NPC kindly directed me to a page of definitions.

Thanks John! You saved me the trouble there of going off to find it for Nick in my bookmarks here!It wasn't that particular one I was given back then though, but the word abreviations lists are all similar anyway pretty much, aren't they just!

A brave man once said, btw - that's 'by the way', btw - 'I have learned a lot in this life. But above all I have learned that I still have a lot to learn.' Good on you mate!

I think the reality is more likely that you get out too much

Thanks, I think, Jon.

Still lots to learn though - hoping to learn more on the C2C in september.

LOL = your comments is not at all funny but I don't want to offend you by not recognising your rubbish attempt at humour

ROFLMAO/PMSL = as above but with a dressing of melodrama

IMHO = I'm not sure what I'm on about here and think I might get slated unless I use this handy disclaimer

= I've just said something which the previous poster may find offensive so let's show them I didn't mean it that way (although actually I did)

= I've just said something a bit rude/obscure and I want to make sure everyone knows it

AFAIK = I have just made this up

FWIW = this is completely unrelated to the discussion but I thought it might make me look clever/attractive

FYI = (either) You are completely wrong you nit (or) here is a random email I do not understand

HTH = I didn't understand your question but I wrote this as I thought it might make me look clever/attractive

WTF = the poster above is clearly a complete idiot with sh!t for brains.

How typical of you to come up with something so witless, you talentless turd-faced tit!

Get out of the tent now Big Boy and we'll get this MFSOTR

LMFAO at you lot.

Strange how "MIILF" isn't in the list on the link............... does that mean not many us have one?

I thought that meant "Mother-In-Law Fetish" which put me off a little bit.

I thought he'd just had the nose job to rectify that

craft moment - affects primarily the elderly and me a lot - "can't remember a feckin thing"

jfdi - just feckin do it

mdbtyd - my dad's bigger than your dad - usually accompanies a pissing contest about stove weights/fuel consumption/tents...erm...well anything really.

fwiw anyway (see Marcus' definition)

Mmm, are you sure you didn't mean anal, which describes some of these abbreviations?

So, come on Kate, what does ANAL stand for?
