Hi Iain and the rest. I'll sign up for both days, Tower Ridge and the Aonach Eagach. Just to encourage those concerned about Tower Ridge - get signed up as Iain will give you a great safe day on an absolute Scottish clasic.

I'd love to do Tower Ridge but at the minute I'm struggling to walk 100m - physio this week hopefully can manouver my knee to where it needs to be.

OK Folks, This is where we are at the mo. The Aonach Eagach Day has been filled by Peakbagger, Kelvin & cdju. Martin Chown & cdju are booked on to the Tower Ridge Traverse - we need one other person for this day to take place. All the best, see you soon. Iain

Hi all, I may be interested in doing either of these scrambles, I've read both threads and can't fathom out what the skill set is? can somone tell me what that is? I have no clue as to what or where these 2 mentioned scrambles are or the cost? I'm 55 and resonably fit..considering I live in essex.. I've done the scrambles up to hellveyn, and by the water spout on bow fell, in the dolomites and part of a guide up tryfan and fancy learning something a little tougher. Also what is the basic equipment I need?, I'm ok for normal walking gear and waterproofs etc.. I'm trying to find a local b&b right now for that weekend.. thanks... Tony

Hi there Tony, The price for each day is £65.00.Saturday on Tower Ridge up on the North Face of Ben Nevis is a Grade 3 scramble/easy climb all you will need is a good pair of boots and your usual kit.The harness and helmet can be rented by Iain Gallagher the course guide.this is up there as one of the best routes you can do,but as long as you dont have any problems with exposure.Brown underpants time!haha Sunday on the Aonach Eagach ridge its up there as well as one the most thrilling ridge walks in the country with a few tricky bits on the tops but if you was after one to up your grade on this would be a good classic to do.Not sure if you have hired a guide before but from what i have heard about Iain you will be in very capable hands. Glen Coe is probaly one of the most amazing place in Scotland to travel to for mountains and valleys, also near Fort William.Look it up on the google map. Hope this has been of some help. Martin

Just seen physio about my knee - hopefully I can participate, it's looking good anyway. NO serious damage and I recover quickly, so it's lots of stretching and massage for the next two weeks. If I have a superb recovery and no one has booked Tower Ridge, then I may join you on that one too. We''ll see. *wanders off to do one legged squats
Good man, Kelvin! My knee problem started recurring in my right knee the last couple of weekends, and I knew it was because I'd eased up on the one legged squats as my knees had been so good. After a week of doing the exercises, I had no problems this weekend on the steep descents. Keep it going - and fingers crossed for a superb recovery.

Hi folks. just an update on bookings for the scrambling days. As far as I can tell at this point only two spaces have been paid for and therefore, in my eyes, booked. A few others have said they are definitely on for booking spaces so hopefully they will get their money in soon. As I've said before, if a day doesn't fill then those booked on can choose to either make up the shortfall or receive a full refund. The only time a refund won't be given is if you book a place and then are unable to make the day. Anyway, I'm a pretty reasonable chap to deal with - so get the money in! Lets hope we get some decent weather for this Supermeet. I don't know about the rest of you but here in The Lake District, I'm thoroughly fed up with all of this wet weather we are having! Looks like I'll be camping on the Red Squirrel as I thought that to stay in the FRCC hut in Kinlochleven would be thoroughly anti-social - I wouldn't be able to spend much time with the rest of your or have encore du bevvies in the Claichaig and that would really be no fun! How many others are joining me on the site? Regards Iain

There's a few of us I believe - will be there myself late afternoon
I can take two places for Tower Ridge if anyone doesn't pay or drops/bottles out.
Hi Sean, Well, at this point, no-one to my knowledge has paid for Tower Ridge!! Get your money in to me pronto and you are on it. Regards Iain
Cheers Iain. I'll transfer the money tomorrow lunchtime.
Hi Iain etc, transferred the cash for both days (Tower Ridge and the Aonach Eagach) last night so hope it got there. Iain may well join you at the Red Squirrel at least on the Sat night.

Another £20 if a Munky takes a big fall!!
Surely Iain should add an extra charge for each Munky he takes up Tower Ridge? Then we can chip in for each Munky that falls off?
