 Envy. 'tis a horrible thing.

I'm not the slightest bit envious: Puffin and I shall be spending that weekend hiding from and being found by absolutely gorgeous collies and labradogs

WOOF!

Hmm, interesting comments being bandied about on here? Sean - what this about you being a munky is there something I should know or is this referring to the little band of stuffed stowaways that you and Maria seem to have on your persons on occasion On that note will Godzilla and his baby brother be joining us on tower ridge!! By the way mate - your money cleared my account today as did cdju's so what that means folks is that both the Tower Ridge and Aonach Eagach days are now fully booked up. Please can we all pray for some decent weather. Dunno about the rest of you but I've had enough of this perpetual wetness Before anyone casts aspersions about the quality of my kit, if anyone thinks I use ropes that are less than 100% then I'm a frayed Knot See you all in the clachaig in two weeks, all the best. Iain

Thanks Iain, looking forward to it. Can't believe September could be worse than August! Probably shouldn't have said that
Yes Iain, lets hope the weather is better than what we have up here this weekend. Glad to see that the courses are fully booked for both days. Hope you have as good a day as we had on the Aonach Eagach a few years back @ a previous OM meet as you can see from these photies Oh how gear has changed
You have some funny habits... *Whump!* Ok, who threw this coat at me?
LOL Peakbagger - some might agree about my funny habits!!
Pay no attention, Iain. It's just thinly veiled jealousy from the Flatland ne'er-go-outs The Munkys and the pears on legs will most definitely be going I really hope the weathers good for this. Just back from the Lakes again, and it's the fourth weekend in a row where the weather's been rubbish.

Yeah its my biggest concern really, I know the rest of it will be a right laugh

Hi folks, well I've noticed that no-one has posted anything on this thread since the weekend and I have to say, I'm a little surprised but maybe just like me, everyone has been tres tres busy Anyway - I just wanted to say thanks to all of you who did turn up and make it a memorable weekend and a great deal of fun. It was just great! Despite the poor weather it was good to be sharing some experiences on some big mountains with people who, as well as being continued clients, have also become friends. The crack and banter, encore du beers & food in The Clachaig! The real foof cafe in Tyndrum - it was all good stuff. If anyone is interested - Ive attached a link to my blog so you can see what I wrote about the weekend:- http://www.blog.kendalmountaineeringservices.co.uk/2009/09/om-supermeet-glencoe-19-20th-september.html And at some point I intend to get the pictures online so they can be shared with the rest of you - what can anyone tell me about picassa?? The next thing we need to talk about is the annoual OM Winter Skills weekend in the Cairngorms which will be held around the end of February although I'm away now from Oct 1st until Nov 13th - got to help get 8 people up Mera Peak! If, in the meantime anyone wants to get the ball rolling with a Winter Skills Thread - be my guest. Once again - many thanks all for a fantastic weekend. TTFN Iain

Hi Iain - I think most folk came back and commented on the original meet thread. I'm pretty sure everyone thouroughly enjoyed the weekend! Not sure about Picassa (I use Flickr) but I'm sure TBW uses it so hopefully she'll be along later and will repsond. See you in Langdale hopefully!
Hi Ian, It was great to meet you. I would love to come along to the Winter Skills course (cash and work depending) Hopefully will see you in Langdale Cheers, Stephen

I use Picasa, but only cos it came with my laptop. I found it dead easy to use, very intuitive, the basic photo adjustments it can do are pretty straightforward (and there's a really useful little utility for straightening your photo, great for those 'oh dear, the water's a bit lopsided in that loch' type shots). Uploading to the web was such a doddle I didn't really clock how it did it!

The next thing we need to talk about is the annual OM Winter Skills weekend in the Cairngorms...
Been watching out for this one. Hoping there'll be a Winter Climbing option again Iain?
I'll defo be doing the winter skills this year!
Had a great time on the Sunday Iain, many thanks. As you say, we were glad to be roped on one steep, wet, very polished down climb but on reflection it was educational to see all the skills we had learnt on the scrambling course earlier this year, being put into practise on a 'real' scramble. I know personally I will feel far more confident taking friends on Grade 2 scrambles in Wales, having watched your use of belays and realising I actually need to give a spike a good pull... the best way to learn is through experience and Aonnach Eagach and yourself provided bucketloads. Cheers Iain, till the next time - I still have to learn placement of nuts, hexes, etc and absails!

 Winter skills for me too
Winter Skills with Iain is awesome! I had a lot more fun in the great winter we had down in the Brecon Beacons this year because of doing his course. Awesome that is, apart from that frigging rock in Coire an Sneachda!
