Ayrshire Tiger - Raw Head Hut That Blonde Woman - Raw Head Hut Metric Kate - Raw Head Hut Cath - Raw Head Hut Posh Totty - wild camp? Beth SimpleSimon LotC - Gin Palace or tipi Stephen M Kelvin - wild camp? Paddy Dillon - wild camp? The Didster - wild camp? Ray!!!!! - wild camp? Jamie? Mr Sworld - wild camp? Tim Ben was in Yorkshire Apologies if I've missed anyone, please feel free to add if necessary. And just to re-iterate we WILL be in the Old Dungheon Ghyll Hotel on the Friday night!
Anybody staying up there longer? if not I shall probably continue North at the end of the weekend and spend a few days out in Scotland.
I don't think you've missed me 'cos I've probably not said yet.... but I'm almost certain for this now (and MoS almost certainly can't make it). Possibly on for wildcamping - presumably the Saturday night is the intention?
I'm coming. Campsite / pub first night, then wild camp on Saturday.
No MoS? I'd love to stay on, Ben, but am teaching on the monday.
Anybody booked a 'POD'? Just saw the NT campsite website.

ditto rocky and matt c - won't get there before dark on the friday (and fat chance of a cloudless full moon) so campsite the first night, and wildcamping saturday.
So, I ain't been to this part of the Lakes before - what's to do?

Flippin 'eck Kate... it's the first part of the Lakes I ever walked in... and even when I think I know all of it... I still find something else to do there!
So, I ain't been to this part of the Lakes before - what's to do? Lots and lots to do Kate! Crinkle Crags, Langdale Pikes, Jacks Rake to mention just a few.

phooey.

I've only been to the Lakes a few times. Let's see - day trip to Red Tarn when on retreat at Carnforth as a student; Braithwaite '06; Brotherswater '07; Eskdale twice, Wasdale once. That's it, folks!
Kate - never stayed on this campsite before either. There's some big pointy things to the North and West... come for a wild camp! In bad weather we generally pitch a tent together, one at a time so no one is left with a flappy bit of fabric to put up on their own! Kipping in the hills beats sleeping in the valleys... usually warmer as well! It won't be a full moon... but there is always the Milky Way, satellites, shooting stars and space stations to watch out for... not forgetting the cloud inversions!!!
I've been Wasdale once - that's it. Growing up in Scotland meant I just bypassed it loads on the M6/A74. Campsite Fri sounds good to me, straight to pub, alcohol, ruined...
I'm going wildcamping this weekend, I hope, Rocky
Me too - wildcamp Sat night.
