Assuming I'm at home... or even in the country... I intend checking the weather forecast on the Friday morning before making a commitment. By the way, how many people can you fit on a wild camp before it stops being 'wild'? I'm just thinking of those tent cities that you get at Styhead Tarn, which aren't my idea of wild camping!

Indeed Paddy! I'm not wild camping so nowt to do with me really but I guess it might be sensible for folk to split into smaller groups. I'm sure folk can sort things out on the Friday evening in the ODG.
AT - That's the spirit - meet and the ODG - Get kicked out at closing time - Head off into the fells to set up some wild camps!
I'm assuming folk are camping at the NT site on the Friday evening then wild camping on Saturday evening after a long walk! However if anyone wants to wild camp after a night in the ODG on their head be it!
Oh well... count me out then. The idea of a night in the ODG and a night on the NT campsite doesn't appeal at all. Mind you... nowt to stop me heading for the hills for a wild camp any time I like!
Can I confirm that there will be some folks frequenting the hostelries in Langdale on the Sat night?

No problem Paddy. To be honest the wild camping is a relatively new thing for OM meets. Previously they have tended to be campsite based and that is the intention with this one albeit a few folk have indicated that they are likely to wild camp on the Saturday. Can I confirm that there will be some folks frequenting the hostelries in Langdale on the Sat night? There certainly will be Chris!

About 50% .....BUT...if a leedle bit of rain tumbles and it is a bit shivery many might recant .. I speak only from mine own wimpish perspective

Not zo mein OM freund. Zere haf been several Vindy meets zat haf been der camping zat is vild.
the first Vindy [sic] meet was less than two years ago, which in OM terms is still relatively new.
Aye but the Windy wild camp meets are a relatively new thing, I'm talking about pre-Windy days ie pre 2007! There were regular campsite based OM meets every few months back then.
that's what i was trying (badly) to explain AT
Thanks Glyn! Good to see a potentially good turnout again, after the recent Glencoe meet. The more the merrier and as has been stated before it's really a case of doing whatever folk want to with the opportunity of a bit of a social get together in the evening(s).

Yeah, whatever! I'm just happy to meet up with people that are: a) Pointing me in the right direction b) Like camping c) Give me lifts (I'm looking at people called Posh right now! ) d) Have previosly wild-camped e) Are nice peeps from the OM forum d) If you've read this far anyway! e) Share Whisky or even Bourbon! f) Take yer choice!

Hi all, I was planning a solo trip to Wasdale for these dates (my useual walking partner has bailed due to the cold weather) would it be ok if I joined you instead? I've only got 1 wild camp under my belt so far and would love to pick up some tips from more experienced members. Also if anybody needs a lift from the Bath area give me a shout.

No they're not. We used to do it quite a bit back in 2002. Before your time?
