Gotta agree with you there Mr Sworld, I'm also really looking forward to this. I don't get into the hills anywhere near enough. Partly because I'm at least 2hours from anywhere worth going, and partly because the people I go with have gotten into some sort of obsession with always doing the highest peaks. One of them has even said "unless it's Ben Nevis I'm not interested" and what with them moaning about the cold, refusing to invest in fundamental kit such as a shell jacket, I'd pretty much given up the idea of enjoying the hills with other human beings until I come across this forum.

2hrs - blimey, I wish

Had planned on getting up there Friday morning but looks like I'll be working away from mid November, so it may be late when I get up or down to the lakes. Plans going astray is something to be enjoyed however.

Sorry to bump in the "unless it's Ben Nevis i'm not interested"

Rob, I think you had better go to the meet in langdale because november is one of the best time's to be in the lakes and most important the pub there is actually pretty good.

Sounds like some endurance training will be required if we're going to be in the pub that early!

Hi everyone,

By coincidence I will be staying at the Great Langdale campsite with some friends on Saturday night (14 Nov), and possibly also the night before. We plan to visit the ODG in the evening for some refreshments. It would be good to meet up with you all for a chat and put some faces to the names I see here. Are you planning to visit the ODG on Saturday as well as Friday?

Yours,

Steve

No problem Tim, next time maybe.

Steve - we will definitely be partaking of some liquid refreshment somewhere on the Saturday night but might eat elsewhere first (possibly Stickle Barn or NDG).  Will try and firm up details closer the time.

Hi AT,

Thanks, looking forward to meeting you all over the weekend. To spot me - I'm 53 yrs old, 6'0", slim-ish, grey hair and glasses. I'll be with my elder daughter; 28 yrs, 5'8", slim, dark hair; and maybe one or two others. My tent is a yellow Fairydown Assault 2 (http://www.tents-direct.co.uk/show_tent.php?productid=725) and my daughter's is a blue Vango Tempest 300.

Yours,

Steve

Ok. What are the rest of you taking?

I've got a choice of 70L or 38L sacks. The tent is a Laser Comp, sack is Alpkit  Pipedream 600 (could be too hot mind you!). Pocket Rocket and Snowpeak cook system.

Superfly XT shell and Photon hoody. North Face Expedition Fleece but I like the Montane  Jaguar as a back-up!

I know that November in the Lakes is going to be wet and windy so can any of you Wild Camper Gods give me good advice?
