Hi!

Just to let you know that the Prestwick branch of TK MAXX has a limited stock of some good gear. Got a pair of Rohan High Uplanders for £19 reduced from £59. Craghopper Kiwi zip-offs at "24.99. Some other excellent bargains on the Swedish Tenson range.

Getting a bit thin on the ground in Reading, too.

In the last few months, I've squirrelled the following from TK Maxx:

Patagucci:

Fennec trousers £20
Stretch Zephur £50
R2 jackets (2) £27 each
Capilene glove liners £5
Capilene silkweight T £5

Extremities Kevlar GoreTex mitts £13

Fila Ripstop/Taslan Goretex insulated salopettes £40

Spotted Supercell and Stretch Zephur jackets at £33 in Bournemouth.

Beaten to a £22 Patagucci down vest on Saturday... and someone has finally bought a Stretch Krushell that I thought no-one else in Reading would have had a clue about...

Sounds like I need to find one of these stores and get some bargains...

Why are they so cheap?
Show/hide user stats
Yeah, and I still have no money to buy any of it!

Daniel, Its usualy just last years kit. Its a case of dropping lucky with TK Max. Allow plenty of time, stuff is mixed up like a jumble sale.

TKMaxx Liverpool as of last week had several of the Patagonia Mens Supercell jackets in light grey Medium for £35 - seems quite nice - not tried it in the rain yet. Impressively long pit zips.

They also had a few misc pairs of sprayway polycotton walking trousers and some reebok trousers that looked like they may be waterproof breathable - no fabric details though. All about £20

Uxbridge had orange Patagonia Supercell jackets in small and xs for £70. Why are they so much more expensive here than everywhere else?
Show/hide user stats
Coventry store currently has loads of Patagonia tops (didn't see any jackets though) and oodles of Regatta fleeces in vile marshmallow colours.
They also have a lot of wicking, breathable base-layer tshirts, various brands, for £9.

Jon, Uxbridge is expensive cos you're Daaan Saarth :)

Not much in my (not so) close Worthing branch... Just lots of Regatta and Craghoppers, which I could get for trade anyway. :(

bournemouth have a patagonia something for £70 in medium and a sprayway thermolite or whatever packable warm layer for £20 in medium.

I will have a look in Preston's TKMaxx in a few weeks when I get back Ooop North and see if they are cheaper up there then! :-)

A few weeks may be too late. The £35 ticket seemed to be low enough to finally shift about ten Supercell jackets that had been lurking on the racks in Reading for quite a while. Either that, or my continuous plugging here and on RT have finally brought out Reading's kitmonsters. The revolting sand Torrentshells are still there, though...

patagonia stretch element, yes the daddy of patagonias, £100, most sizes and in red, blue or orange
