Llantrisant

  • Berghaus Big Wall Belay Parka £129
  • Berghaus Mera Peak jkt in mens S £99
  • Berghaus soft shells (ladies 10-16) £70
  • Berghaus windstopper fleece (ladies 10 & 12) £60? But in the most ghastly bright PINK you'll ever experience
  • Berghaus Cornice IA jacket (ladies 12, 14) £99 (or was it £129?)
  • Lowe Alpine base layers (ladies 14) various prices
  • LA waterproof trousers (ladies 12 & 14) £25
  • Lots of Craghoppers fleeces.
Are Berghaus chucking a lot of kit out at the moment then?

New stuff in Llantrisant?   Every time I go there it looks like the remnants of a church jumble sale  -   I'm sure they get given the stuff that no other store can sell (men's at least).

It is, indeed, a particularly irksome place, even by TK's maxi-standards. The new Cardiff store is marginally better.

(this is a silly price for this fabric; ComfortMapped GSS with Paclite hood, waterproof zip and pit zips. shame about the gy/or colour.)
Can't comment on the fit or cut, as they only had XL

I hope you're not being tempted by the Big Wall stuff, Capt. Paranoia?!?!?!
Show/hide user stats
No, just hmmming at the still reassuringly expensive price of £130. I was tempted by the Accelerator pants, just couldn't get the things over my thighs. Apparently, their sizes are S: 28-30 waist, 30 leg; M: 30-32 waist, 31.5 leg. And you can't really adjust the length of things like that.

Oh, and I noticed the other day that they're extending their usual 30 day returns policy to cover the Xmas period; you have until 31st January to return anything bought at the moment...

Swansea city centre branch.

On Sunday they had a multitude of Saloman Soft shell approach shoes all for £30. (shame I've got wide feet )

Also saw they had lots of goggles from North Face all for £25 (I think), loads of helly hansen and trekmates base layer underwear.

Just bought one of the Adidas Soft Shell Gtx Jackets. Arms are a bit long, but you can't go wrong to get a Gore Tex jacket for £24.99!!

Did you have to accept the orange/grey colour scheme, or did they have other colours in your branch? I'd be interested in getting (I suspect) a small. I'd look at Adidas sizing information if only they actually had any on any of their websites...
Show/hide user stats
I had to go with the orange & grey, as this was the only one they had in Dundee, but luckily enough it was a large. I would say to go a size smaller, a medium would probably have been better for me but I wasn't complaining. In all honesty, I wouldn't buy one of these jackets for full price: the hood isn't wired, the pockets aren't very big, and the snowskirt is pretty useless. But for £25 quid you can't really go wrong...

Santa came early!

I picked up North Face Thin air sunglasses (rrp £125) for £19.99 and a Berghaus Blade jacket for £49.99 from TK Maxx in Glasgow Fort.

Huzzah!!

No doubt regular readers will not be surprised to learn that I sent feedback to Adidas re the lack of sizing information.

They replied by sending me the URL of an online shop that happened to sell Adidas stuff... admittedly, they did say they would pass my comment on to their website developers.

But what clothing company fails to appreciate the need to publish sizing information? A brainless one, I suspect...

James,

I saw those sunglasses but ended up going for the TNF goggles instead. The sunglasses seemed really flimsy to me - have you used them in anger yet? If you have any good feedback on them, then I might be tempted by one of the pairs in Dundee.

 Cheers

Not yet, I only got them the other day. They look like a good option for the eyes on a good day in the snow. In poor conditions I'd stick with goggles.

oh, and the montaine is marked uk 18 us 16, which is obviously wrong.  i bought one in grey marked the same - meant to say uk 16 us 18 - and they are actually about a size down from that. (oh and i only paid 40...)

plus i got  DC skate shoes for my 2 yr old for 13 quid.  white velcro old skool style tennis shoe.

also a load of Garmont walking boots, trail shoes etc. and as many gobby chavvy kids as you can eat.

there was also a grey Nike acg lightweight shell that felt like it was eVent.  price unknown.

Been going on a BH frenzy in the Farnborough store as well as HH base layers. There is a bargain to be had if you have the time to search through the jumble

Looks like, but it's not, I don't think. Shame. It's the ACG Orizaba jacket, I think.

Llantrisant last week a North Face lightspeed jacket. No price tag on it so they sold it for £29.99!!

Goretex paclite and xcr mix.

Well chuffed
