Stretch Element spotted in Reading TKM on Saturday, too. Lots of smalls in orange, some medium.

How bizarre! Synchronicity! I was going to resurect this thread because...

...I was in the Stoke TXMaxx today and there was a BLUE stretch element in M in there for £99!

Get it whilst it's there.

(There was also two of the same in ORANGE (which in very nice) in size XS for £99.)

Southport had lots of Vango sleeping bags and HiGear drybags last week.

I'll have to check my local one out again. Last time it was all junk

Sleeping bags, eh? What a strange shop. Seems a lot of the people in there haven't a clue at what they have in front of them. I saw a chap yesterday discard one of the Patagucci jackets in favour of a "Tresspass" one.

Sigh.

Yeah, but the Stretch Element is a bit specialist, isn't it? Very short, intended for alpine climbing, to be worn with waterproof trousers. It's so short, it even has a crotch strap. And a big hood to be worn over a helmet. Not exactly ideal for going down the pub, or walking the dog. And probably still 2 or 3 times the price of the Trespass one. Even _I_ managed to convince myself that I didn't need it. ;-)

Not that I disagree about people not knowing what's in front of them. £5 Capilene base layers... £27 Supercell jackets... £35 Stretch Krushell (a woman saw me fondling it, and had a look after me - spot the total bemusement on her face as to why it had attracted my eye...). It's great, isn't it!

Went in today, based on what you guys have seen and in our shop - zilch.

I dont think there much left on the Lorry by the time it gets to us.

Sorry JJ & Julie, we can only report what we find; it is hit and miss, I'm sure :-( Oh, and only the Stretch Element currently in - the others are historical references.

Though I'm not sure what route this lorry takes; Reading, Stoke, Stockport, Belfast...

Strech Elements in the Romford branch also in sizes xs,s,m, colours blue or orange.

Quite a few Stretch Elements £99 in Kilmarnock. Mostly small in blue or orange although there was one medium that I bought - still debating whether I really need it, have 30 days to decide whether to take it back!

loads of the stretch jackets - both blue and orange - in sauchiehall street, glasgow. and the vango and hi-gear maggots.

Spotted on Saturday

Stretch Elements still there...waiting further discounts...

Sprayway Zone 2 ThermalPro jackets (clone of Patagonia R2) £40, grey
Sprayway WNW Windbloc jkt £40, grey, navy
Sprayway Alpha Paclite jkt (no hood) £70
Quiksilver pullover, in a new-to-me fleece that I would have sworn was Polartec 200, but it's Terksaen, a French make, £25

I didn't realise they had decent stuff in so often. I got some great Merrell fell shoes last year for about a tenner originally in lurid yellow, but now peaty black. Anyone looked in the Derby or Burton branch recently?

Bugger all in Carlisle - not surprisingly! It's all chavvy stuff.

James,

Since my last listing (on previous page), I've bagged the following:

Patagonia Supercell jacket £31 rrp £170
Patagonia R2 Simple pullover £18 rrp £75
Extremities Poacher Paclite hat £6 rrp £35
Bridgedale Sandal socks £4 rrp £10
Patagonia Tropical Flats trousers £7 rrp £50

oh, and a couple of Hi-gear polycarbonate Nalgene-clones for £2 each.

Missed a pair of Salomon Pro Sticky Lows for £10 - I asked around mates for a size 6, but they'd gone by the time someone expressed an interest. I _knew_ I should have snapped them up there and then, but I thought I'd be sensible. Don't know what came over me...

kit, lovely kit...
