In Maidstone the pickings have been slim indeed, recently. No Marmot, no Cloudveil, no Paramo, no Patagonia.. nothing good at all really, just loads and loads of "Trespass" and "Regatta" rubbish.. maybe they don't expect their customers to want to go outdoors, here in Kent?

There were some Markill cookware / stoves / gas lanterns in Stevenage TKMaxx. Mostly entry level stuff but I picked up an Ardor Light 3 set of anodized aluminium pans for £12. They normally sell for about 45Euros / 40 GBP.

Almost bought an XS (UK6/8) ACG W Paclite jacket that was re-labelled at £30, but made the mistake of putting it back on the rack whilst taking details of other items.  A bloke picked it up and his size 12, 5'10" girlfriend squeezed herself into the tiny jacket, so it was skin tight, but must have bought it.  I should have done my kitmonster advisor thing and persuaded her it was too small; it was, by a long way...

Never tell a woman something is too small or too tight...never ever suggest her bum looks big...and never ever comment when said woman's boyfriend is close by!

Remember, I kept my thoughts to myself...  It wasn't that she was big at all (size 12 at 5'10" is pretty slim, after all).  But trying to fit into something size 6?  Just silly.

Hatfield Galleria TK Maxx has lots of Cloudveil stuff including the Down Filled Koven Plus for (IIRC) £120 in Mens Large. Several Enclosure Hooded Jackets (Mens XL) in two-tone blue now marked down to £58 (200gsm Primaloft One !) and one Red one in L (still marked at £80).

Lots of womens Cloudveil (fleece hoodies, softshell, hard shell, down parka etc.), Marmot Precip in various bright colours.

A few interesting things from Keela at very low prices (£35) including a robust looking mountain hardshell.

They also had plenty of Lowe Alpine mens Gore Tex Pro Shell jackets for £99.

And I was surprised to see a Paramo Alta II mens XXL jacket for about £60 IIRC (didn't look for long as it was so huge!).

Some fairly good looking smaller dry bags (three for £5.99)

In other words, plenty out there for the bargain kit hunter.

Interesting that you've seen sizes other than M; all the items I've seen have been M samples.

I shall keep looking; an Inertia Peak in my size (S) would be nice...

The LA Venture jackets seemed to be mis-labelled; both said Venture, but one was in Performance Shell, and the other in Paclite.
