Basingstoke BH Furnace down jkt bl XXL £80 rrp £176 Didn't seem as shiny as that one, so maybe previous year's stock. Also had logo/label on the sleeve, and definitely Quantum shell, and no silly white zip...

There are quite a few Sprayway Santiago Insulated jackets in Reading, £100 rrp, originally £50, now marked down to between £37 and £17. Not the world's greatest fabrics, but the design is okay (rather than good). Not bad for a winter town/dogwalking waterproof. Keela W Taransay Polartec 200 jkt £15 Keela W Summit Advance ls zip fleece pullover £10

In TK Maxx London Charing Cross Road and Lewisham High Street, there are also various Sprayway Santiago Insulated jackets (Mens) on sale for between GBP 25.00 and GBP 37.00. I bought one myself, and have been using it for a week or two, it is a good jacket for the GBP 25.00 I paid for it. It is breathable, and light, the front hand pockets are really deep, and are lined with an extremely soft material (comfy when my hands are in them!!). The jacket is also lined with the same extremely soft material as the hand pockets, which glides over my fleece jumper, making it really wasy to put on and take off.

Currently in TKMaxx Peterborough Merrell Guise jackets - mens - M, L, XL (Black/Blue) -Primaloft insulated - £44.99 (current season?) Merrell Fractual full zip fleece jacket - mens - £24.99 (M) - in Boulder LA Dryflow W base layer top (medium) - £9.99

After going back for the Merrell Fractual (my wife likes it...), I noticed that the Peterborough store has just got in some mens Craghopper Basecamp trousers (lined) at £19.99 (so a bit cheaper than similar Kiwi's). They are 40L and 34R (I'm a 34 S, damn!). And...while looking for baselayers for my wife (who afterwards said she didn't want me choosing her clothes for her), I found two womens Patagonia Capilene 3 tops (small) for £12.99. Actual Patagucci!

Some interesting sea-to-summit stuff in at the moment; dry bags and the like.
Also some PoE Ether sleep mats @£20
Clothing has been disappointing for the last year. Tempting to give up the trawling... I've heard it suggested the good stuff is going to websites like SportsPursuit instead. Since I object to having to register to look in what is effectively a shop window, I can't comment...

Which one Captain? I live mid-way between the one at Kidderminster and (aham) Dudley.
I have two stores nearby, both never seem to have anything worthwhile in, so much so i haven't nipped in for a look see for well over 6 months.
Well, the PoE mats were in Basingstoke and Reading. But they're not now...
As usual, the point is to highlight that such things may be in stock...
I picked up PoE Ether 6 Long mat for £24.99 at the Edinburgh Straiton store. Not a bad price to pay for a back up mat. They also had PoE Pneumo dry bags for £10.

I've pretty much given up in Southport. I havent seen anything remotley tempting for a year or so.
The only things I've seen, and bought, in terms of clothing for at least the last six months are some Falke and Under Armour gear. The Falke pieces in particular were great buys. The ones near to me don't even get any decent socks in these days. They have had some brilliant Hurtta things in for dogs recently. I still buy lots of other, non-outdoorsy, things from them as well. I don't know what's happened to the outdoor gear. I know a manager of one who is as puzzled as us.
