I fondle in all departments; men's, women's and children's...

Loads of skiwear in Reading women's at the moment.

I was amused to see how quickly the HH downie (or is it downy?) jackets went; they had dozens of the things, and they went in about a week. HH a favorite of Reading's chavs...

A TKMaxx store opened in Birmingham last week. God, it's awful!

Cap' there was a very nice, bright blue Sprayway monkey-type jacket in there today.

Yup, that's the 'Zone 2' (clearly 'influenced' by Patagonia's 'R2' jacket). The stretchy side panels look a bit too thin for my liking, though.

plenty of patagucci in cotswolds bargain basement at the moment....

Southport, Warrington and Liverpool still have Patagonia orange stretch thingies for climbers at only £99 down from £300.
Lots of Columbia pants [Cordura x?] showing , as well as Regatta Elbert 100 fleece tops @ £12

Check out your local Aldi for Thinsulate Trekking pants, and also Coolmax tops and leggings from recent cycling promotion as well as a very nice fleece with vented side panels [ but as usual get a size smaller than you would get in UK sizing]
Also a wind up/rechargeable 3 LED torch doing 1 or 3 LEDS , only £7-99 Greta Xmas gift for a kid

Update from the Coventry store...

As well as oodles of Regatta/Sprayway/Trespass and ACG (or whatever that Nike "technical" brand is called), I have found....

Down jackets for £30! (Men's - Wynnster, 85% down 15% feather. Women's Trespass, 70% down 30% feather)

They also had an ACG (or whatever) one for £19.99, but not in my size and only 50% down, 50% feather.

HTH someone :)

Loads of skiing stuff in Reading branch.

And the Patagonia Stretch Element is down to £45. I say EleMENT, as there was only one left. Fortunately, not in my size, so avoiding bargain frenzy.

I did succumb to one of the Sprayway Zone 2 jackets, now £18. And very fluffy and warm it is too...

Liverpool had (may still have) rather nice Nike ACG goretex XCR jackets in black. They appear to be the same as the comm jacket on the US ACG website but without the earpiece and wires. £119 (various sizes) Perhaps not the best design for the hills - not as many pockets etc but stylish and very well made. Rather slim fit - not much space underneath for warm layers. Water-resist zips all round.

I see that I have competition to find stuff in the Coventry store... Hope we are different sizes, Cara-Lyn!

LOL!! Didn't know there were any other Coventry kids here. TBH I can't really afford anything else at the mo, but if that £20 jacket had been a 10/12 I'd have snapped it up!
Give me a buzz if you ever fancy going to a meet and maybe we can lift-share :)

Lots in Northampton. Loads of fleeces, Wynster, Sprayway etc. Some french 3in1s that look mint for £80, down from £280 supposedly, can't remember the make. Various wind stoppers (cyclists would like) and lots of snowboard gear. We get a hell of a lot of that sort of thing which makes me think it's because we are near MK Snowdome. Lots of Craghoppers stuff, trousers, fleeces, tshirts.
If you have kids, lots of nice walking boots for them of various makes.

Not a thing in the Burton store...

Apart from a LOVELY pink and yellow and purple striped shirt. In XXL.

Lovely.

I picked up a nice pair of Zamberlan Trail Lite GTXs (Gore Tex lining, Vibram soles and fashioned from lovely Italian leather) for £50 in Hammersmith t'other day.

Don't really need them of course, but they do fit so nice.

There was a pair of size 11s going as well.

Kelvin - fancy meeting you here chief.
