Any recommendations for winter warmth trousers made in 29" inside leg 30" waist) please? Nice stetchy, smart looking jobbies. Ideally, don't want to cut them too length!

Craghoppers Kiwi lined trousers. I too take a 29 leg and they are perfect. The fleece lining is great for colder days, without overheating. If it is a really cold day, or you feel the cold more, you may also want to consider long johns.

I was gonna say Kiwis! (Available from all good Yeomans stores, and no doubt loads of other outlets as well.)

I have a pair of Kiwis, but didn't know they had them in a lined version! Thanks both. Still after stretchy ones though, but think these may will fit the bill.

The kiwi's are cosy...but heavy. I just started trying and wearing soft shell trousers such Rab vapour rise and the bees knees Paramo cascada trousers. Honest, after wearing these you forget that it may be cold. Also these trousers will keep you dry. The rab will do this in showers as they water resistant as well (£55), but the cascada will keep you warm and dry whatever (£99). IMHO might be a better option to look for a warm trouser that is waterproof. I just love the soft shell idea - get wet but still warm. Walking in Scotland makes this doubly attractive.

I have lined Kiwis - just bought, but not sure how good they'd be for walking. The fleece lining clings to my legs a bit - static? But very cosy and comfortable! Millets have them on offer at the mo - mine were £35. I like the idea of Vapour-rise trousers but feel I'd need vent zips as I overheat at times. Is there anything like that out there? Or do people find that overheating is not an issue? Thanks.

I find really these really good, they are warm, stretchy, have a DWR and have zipped vents.

Thanks Colm. Looks like they're superseded by the Borazon now. Will investigate...

Keep the idea's coming. Plus 29" legs sizes! Checking out all recommendations of course.

Kiwis are horrid. Way too loose, lousy fabric in winter, gross colours and terribly poorly thought out design. If you can find them Craghoppers do stretch trew's. At one point they had Bear Gryll's all over them. nice and comfy . I reckon you'll find stuff with normal leg lengths hard to find. It's all made fro freaks with 32" + legs not for us normal 30" max ones.

Montane 30" waist, 28.5" inside leg (short) or 30" (reg)

Blacks have some "own brand"- Technicals Stretch Winter Trousers I have a pair and I find them as good as the Rohan Superstriders. May be able to get a pair at a reduced price in the Blacks winter sale that normally starts on Boxing Day.
|
 |
I will follow that up then. Is Millets the 'same' as Blacks? 'Cause thats the only branch in Taunton!
|
 |
Have a look here Old Boy! The power of Google.....
|
 |
The Trousers I had in mind in my previous post are the Technicals Winter Walking Trousers cost £54.99p which are not the lined winter trousers given in the link from Mr Sworld. They include a stretch material (93% Nylon/7% Lyrca). Although Blacks and Millets are owned by the same parent company Technicals branded goods are only available in Blacks shops or via the Blacks website.

 |
You mean these then. GOOGLE! It's not hard! FFS!

Now THEY certainly look the bizz, especially as their stretchy. Worth cutting them to length too!

Further to my previous posts my Local Blacks do indeed have the Technicals Winter Walking Trousers in the sale now reduced to £35 a pair. At this price a real bargain!.
