Graham. Are you wearing the right socks, you shouldnt be getting a blister just because your feet are wet.

Ive got a pair of karrimoor socks which give me blisters if my feet get wet so I only wear them in winter as an outer pair.
I mostly use in Bridgedales or X-socks which dont give me blisters whatever.

I do have a tendancy to get wet feet in summer as I wear shorts and boots and the rain can run down my legs in the boots. Wet feet are allways a possibility as all boots have a bloody great hole in them so maybe you should look at your socks.

I must admit I would never buy a pair of modern boots that needed breaking in. I got a pair in Keswick this winter and wore them out on the fells 3 days running no problems so I cant see the need to suffer the breaking in period I went through 20 years ago.

By the way my boots dont have left and right on them but my socks do.

Double loop pile aircrew socks are the beez kneez but they are very long.

I have a pair which (when pulled up fully) actually go over my knees.

That said they are superb in winter. Toasty warm.
