I must admit the Scotland /England game was 80 minutes of anyones life wasted. I thought rugby was about scoring tries, but then again I am from St.Helens.

Why haven't people realised the Emperor is Naked

Aah! That's what happens when the first team plays. I'm Welsh again.

Come on Scotland! Come on England!(I'm British, too)

Much as I dislike Mike Phillips, I have to say he's a damned good scrum half!

Come on Ireland!!

Well done Scotland.  Well deserved.

Two out of two for your choices so far Mal.   Keep it up.

I've got my fingers crossed, Frum. England will have to play a spoiling game to win though, I think.

But then, will the French allow them to to that?

Gutted!

I don't often agree with Brian Moore, in fact I can't remembera time when I have but he was spot on about the reffing tonight. France were the better team throughout the championship but England were the better team in this match. As for spoiling or slowing down the game, that dubious honour went to the French tonight.

Congratulations to France on the Championship.  As regards the Grand Slam I am in the unusual situation of agreeing with Mal ().

Ashton and Cole - both very promising newcomers, but showing their inexperience.  Should they have been blooded sooner?

Anyway, encouraging for England.  A very good day's Rugby.

You Rugby League types don't know about lineouts, rucks, mauls or proper scrums.  All that leaves you are tackles and tries.  Boring.

Well, there were 2 great mauls in the Ireland / Scotland game, esp. that one when the Irish went about 20 yards - you don't see many of those rolling mauls these days!

I agree with you too, Frum. All in all, the best day's rugby of this year's 6 nations. I'm really chuffed with Wales' win, overjoyed for the Jocks and impressed by England's performance but gutted by the result.

Don't push your luck Mal.  There's no way I'll ever admit to agreeing with your every word, even when I do.

I agree Kate, but they're coming back.  They were killed by the Southern Hemisphere inspired Law which allowed them to be deliberately pulled down, but will return now that common sense has caused that Law to be rescinded.

Oh, I didn't expect you to agree with me about anything, Frum, especially Wales' performance. I don't know whether I'm just surprised or suspicious.

Yes, one of the few good reffing decisions of the France v England match was the penalising of France for deliberately pulling down a maul.

Damn! I'm agreeing with you again!

Told you England were France's bogey team! they just didn't quite make it.
Rolling mauls are boring. In my day they would be regarded as deliberate obstruction. If somebody has the ball you should be able to tackle him and not have a load of people in front shielding him.
