Shewee - tried it out once in the shower (yeah yeah no giggling please) and peed all down my leg. That would have been a great look on the hill...

Outdoor gear in pink for girls - slightly less spec than the guys' stuff for more cash and you look like a t**t too.

(BTW - humungous Borglike headtorches are actually pretty funky if you go hashing at night and want to see where you're running)

Or you carrying JB off somewhere, with or without her WW books, eh Benco!

Touch of jealousy perhaps MK?!

It must be time to bring back the Bradbury thread where ppl kept posting pictures of her.

Which was the reason for my
To be fair That post did have pictures of other female personalities if its JB you objected to.

I actually like the idea of those. Would never get one as extra weight is pointless. I do like little pockets for things but the only one I own is a camera pouch. Keep meaning to get a pouch for my phones to attach them to my rucksack straps.

I use one of those belts all the time on my walking trousers. Never used the zip though as it is tiny. The other thing though is the belt almost wraps twice around me. It is really very long and the strap is quite wide so I struggle to stick the ends throught the hoops a second time around. Have you tried those beige cotton waist belts that are designed to go around under your clothes for security? All I remember is as soon as you put anything into them you sweat quite badly. I remember ending up with damp travellers cheques and local cash as a result.

I think some of these things listed are not as bad as made out. I think some gear are definitely for the minority of people. I only know one person with a compass pouch and he has those big army bergens and always carries too much gear anyway. There's a type for every piece of gear.

To be sure, but not so funky when sitting around the camp after dark and blinding your fellow campers.

Must be a different product JC5. Mine is a rectangular cam action buckle. The strap is quite a wide one and only just fits through my loops. It does have one free end to thread through.

The big long tabs for rolling away hoods that come on so many jackets, perfect for scissor practice.

So your right winter glove goes in the one pocket...where does the left glove, the tissue for your runny nose, your hat and your camera etc go? Do you take your pack off every time you add or deduct accessories?

Edit: not to mention lipstick, eye shadow and mascara...

Rucksacks with fewer than three outside pockets (that you can reach while walking, so making even one jacket pocket a bit of a luxury, especially when it's in your rucksack anyyway).

alpkit 'jewellery'

softshell shorts

those laces where you just pull a wire loop and it locks (apparently)

The worst offender, the worst perpetrator of gear crime, it's a licence for them to sit back and take the piss: Brand loyalty.
