Just a quick heads up for everyone on our imminent redesign which will be arriving early next week and should make OM fresher, more contemporary and easier to use. There will be one or two new features, but broadly speaking things should mostly just look and function better. The forum stays pretty much as it is, so there shouldn't be any issues there. We're really looking forward to a new, brighter OM and we reckon you're going to like it even if you pretend that you don't at first

ooooh, contemporary! will all the reviews end with 'innit?'?
|
 |
does the redesign mean it will now work with browsers properly?
|

No they're switching to flash!

No they're switching to flash! Shhhhh! Don't even think it. I hope the redesign isn't done by the same people who did the Cotswold site.

Excellent news looking forward to it. (any credit for gratuitous crawling ?)

There might have been.....If we didn't all know you were taking the piss.

I hope the redesign isn't done by the same people who did the Cotswold site. That suggests that Cotswold's site was actually designed in some way. As opposed to just spontaneously appearing on the back of a napkin at a corporate lunch one day and then rendered into Flash late on a Friday afternoon.

I think OM is perfect as it is. (even more gratuitous crawling)

The new site is to be a sort of cross between Cotswold's site, The Climbers Shop's site and... wait for it... LFTO!

I will be very happy if it works with chrome I will be very happy if i do not need to resize pictures. The site works very well on my mobile phone ( well text does) so i would hope i could now upload photos too I do think an outdoor site should be very mobile friendly. After all, the site aint called sitinaroomonapc magic is it.

does the redesign mean it will now work with browsers properly?I don't know. The site will be running on an established code thingee - blathers desperately - and so should be more likely to be cross-platform browser friendly, or something like that. The forum will stay pretty much the same, so I don't think the wysiwyg text editor will work with Safari or Chrome still. I'm convinced it will be a major improvement, though it may take a few days to get used to as per normal, particularly for anyone who doesn't refresh their cache based on previous experience. And it won't be looking remotely like any of the sites mentioned above

Good, I'd be very upset it we went pink!
|
 |
Oh, I appreciate the gratuitous crawling btw, but realistically the site is looking a tad dated, needs some redecoration, a lick of digital paint etc.

You are right as ever Jon

Don't knock the back of a napkin approach. Its how British engineering was and still is in some places. Trust me. A napkin is advanced CAD/CAM in some places.
