A friend of mine has just been sold a pair of these by Millets (don't laugh). I've never heard of the manufacturer before. Are they any good?

A friend of mine suffered with every pair of boots he tried, culminating in throwing his pair of Scarpas down a mountain side on Skye, (he sheepisly hobbled down to fetch them!), so we bought him some Trezeta's on special offer and he thinks they are marvellous, very supportive, very comfortable. He took them away to Mexico for a month - no trouble.

If they fit they are a good boot.

If they don't fit, no matter what "features" they have - they are rubbish.

I bought a pair of Trezeta boots a number of years ago, they have only been worn a handful of times because despite the fact they have a gore-tex lining, I get wet feet each time I put them on.

My first real mountain boots were Trezeta suede/cordura/vibram/goretex bought in 1993. They were a great pair of boots and lasted me the best part of 8 years before the heel units ceased to be supportive. The vibram was an older composite, much harder wearing than some of the newer output, and it wasn't a very cushioned boot, but even after years of abuse the stitching (triple-stiched in some parts!) was in great condition and they never let water in. A bit sweaty, but that's GTX liners for you.

I can't comment on their recent models, but I would have to say that I think they were some of the most underrated shoes on the market. Much better than the equivalent Karrimor KSB 3 of that time and 30% less expensive.

I've always been impressed with trezetta boots, like john they were my first real walking boots i owned (at the tender age of 13). Great value for money, i still have them somewhere.

Yup... I was 14 or 15 at the time. I thought my feet were still growing (it turned out they weren't!) so they were always a size too big!

I was introduced to trezetta years ago as a young cop looking for comfy waterproof boots for stomping around the beat. Got a pair of black leather/goretex boots which after 18years, and having been re-soled are still good enough for working in the garden.
They were expensive but a 50% discount convinced me to try them - like a comfy pair of baffies, straight from the box - never had a better pair of boots!

Have since purchase a pair of the trezetaa walking boots - fabric/goretex which heve been used over past 6 years for summer walking - again a great pair of boots, good value for the money.

i bought a pair of trezeta boots at least 7 yrs ago maybe 10. they were abit like a cheap scarpa boot at the time with vibram soles and a goretex lining. the goretex lining is still watertight! the soles are very worn but still have enough grip (very hard soles). ankle support is now pretty poor, but that suits me as i like alot of flex in the ankle, i think it helps take some of the strain off my knees.

i don't know what the new ones are like, but the old ones are OK for the money. They certainly last the test of time.

ive got some new raichle boots now which i havnt used much, and also wear my trail shoes.

I had a pair of lightweight Trezeta boots from Millets a very long time ago. They did two Three Peaks Challenges and went to the Pyrenees where I had to fix them with super glue. I got a pair of crampons minus straps from a Polish guy for 50p, yes that is right. I used some old webbing to strap the crampons to my Trezetas and skipped along the Aneto glacier like an antelope whilst my chum Collywobble kept falling out of his step in thingys.
Got very very drunk in the hospital down the bottom. Shtunning reshepshunist.
Upshoot? They're all right, mine lasted four years of ducking hard bashing and no blisters.

For the price they're OK.

I had a pair, but i found the sole wore down after a couple of years walking. They were still serviceable, but i kept slipping a lot on wet rock so i retired them. The uppers kept in great shape though, and they could be re-soled. Probably still under the stairs somewhere - i ought to dust em off really.

Since had a pair of Meindls that have done four or five times the distance and are still in excellent nick.

Paid £60 for the Trezetas and £140 for the Meindls - so you do get what you pay for. But they're a perfectly decent starter boot (with the same proviso as others have given that they're a good fit!)

I wear my Trezetas all the time. Bought them as a summer boot, but wear them in everything apart from proper soggy conditions. That's when the Mendl Burma come out.

Well, I'm a bit disappointed reading all this complementary stuff about Trezeta boots. I bought a pair 1 year ago, also from Millets. Very comfy - thought I'd got a bargain. However, just the other day my left foot got soaked and on inspection I discovered that the sole had worn a hole at the ball of my foot. The other's not far behind. i'm a moderate hill walker and I also walk a few road miles per day with the dogs. I do think I should have got a bit longer than this so I shall be looking elsewhere for my next pair.

Peter,
I'd say take them back to the store you bought them from and ask what they make of the problem. Perhaps Trezeta aren't what they used to be when I had some in the early 90s (posted above) but equally a year of moderate use shouldn't wear a hole in sole!

Mine failed in a similar way ,only I suffered a bad blister and got wet feet , but they did very many miles though and it was just wear and tear....I wore them out.

I remember in the 80sor 90sthis company getting good review. I remember hankering after a pair. Lucky me, found a pair in great nick at a car boot, goretex lined too, but just a size too small.... so I bought them for one of my sons to grow into. Went to Spain for a year and when we came back, they were too small for my eldest, so they are sat here waiting for my youngest to grow a bit.....Too good to let go you see. I rate them too.

I paid £35 for a pair of snowdon gtx from millets and they lasted 2 years, i wore them for work and for travelling. An excellent boot for walking around cities.

I have a pair of Trezetas bought in the sale at Millets. They are so good that the first time I wore them on a hike and didn't get blisters- never happened before! I recommended them to my friends and now I have five friends with the same boots and they all love them. We look a bit strange if out together though. I like the fact that the padding around the ankle is not too thick as have always had trouble with achilles tendons in other boots. I'm not a mountaineer or anything and the most I've done is about 12- 15 miles in a day fairly flat terrain including woodland and roads.

bought a pair in france when i was about 15, still taking them out and iam now 26, not sure which model they are but they are goretex and i cant fault them.
