Decathlon the French based outdoor retailer who only has a small number of shops in the UK is for the first time taking internet orders for delivery anywhere on the UK mainland. www.decathlon.co.uk for further details.

Does not seem to be on the website but Wildtrak (Newcastle) has 20% off most Paramo instore (including newer things like the VAL and Quito). Reductions on other manufactures as well but was only a quick visit so did not have the time to take details.

Great! They are just over the water from me in Brighton but their UK business still won't deliver to me! C'est la vie, I guess!

you could always ask an OM mate (or another mate) who lives on the mainland to take delivery and to foreward it on to you....?

It would appear that Field and Trek have one Hilleberg Akto for sale on their website at £200.Better be quick if you want one as it may even have been sold as I am typing this post.

Reference Field and Trek - I would not bother.I would not be surprised that they have these things as lures to get new accounts or similar. Despite item remaining on website for some days after my order, getting order confirmation etc. when I logon again I find the same item put back in my basketwith an out of stock notice. Not even an email to say so! I had been sceptical having seen the 'old' Field and Trek get gutted and turned into the high street 'football shirt' style sports shop but let a low price turn my eye. Oh well Mammon has taught me a lesson - back to the reliable stores with keen but not too cheap prices. Sorry for the moan on bargains thread - caveat emptor though!
Yep same thing happened to me Ben - although I did get an email to tell me the item had been cancelled because it was out of stock. Strangely the item I ordered was still listed as for sale on their website and still is now over a week after they apparantly have no stock of it!
I have also heard reports about bargains on Field & Trek that never materialise. On the other hand it might be worth a punt for some of their sale items. Last year I got a lovely Hilleberg Nallo 2 for £200 which turned up the day after ordering (very smug!). I reckon they're just a bit rubbish at keeping their website updated when they sell out of their sale items but sometimes the prices are too good to resist.

Yes I have to admit that it does look a bit hit and miss at times but I did purchase a 2009 Terra Nova Superlite Voyager from them a couple of weeks ago for £210 and the service was excellent with very fast delivery. When I last looked at the website they still had several Quasars for sale at what would seem to be a bargain price of £260.

I ordered one of the super duper deal tents last week and true enough the out of stock e-mail arrived two days later. Dissapointing but half expecting it tbh.
I did order the Photon from F&T just ten minutes ago and got a confirmation. I trust them. A couple of weeks ago I got a Nallo 2 from them for just (!) 300£ and it arrived just fine after a few days (to Sweden). I think there is a slight tim-lag on the site, so if there's just one item and several people try to order it only the first get the item and the rest get disappointed
Well that's twice now I have ordered a tent from F&T and have them received an out of stock notification a few days later (Laser Comp for £160 this time). But as noted above some people are getting these tents, they just need to improve the website so when something is out of stock it says so.
Oh well on the upside it's saved me some money! I ordered a jacket from Castleberg Outdoors 3 weeks ago and that has got lost in the post, not having much luck lately!

PHD Bargain Box has recently been updated Minimus Vest £80n in varying sizes and colours. Some good value kit on there but the Winter sale must be coming soon. Anyone know when?
OK, ok I admit it. I bad-mouthed them yesterday but today at 4pm a DHL van turned up to deliver a nice new tent. So apologies to Field and Trek although I still question how well they are organised but theres no arguing with a bargain. You just have to keep a close eye on their website and get in quickly.
F&T now have a Quasar for £200 here. I'd get one for myself if my wife hadn't invented the idea of "too many tents" (whatever that means).
Nah, you can't use that, as it is too close to too many pairs of walking boots/shoes (which we all know is not something you can have). Try handbags, unless she will hit you in the rucksacks department. Maybe jewllery?

Trekmates take on the lined windproof shirt concept (like Rab Vapour Rise) in the Off Peak shop in Penrith, reduced from £35 to £10. Half length front zip, no hood, lining a quite light brushed affair, so could be good for warmer days. Not as polished looking as the Rab stuff, but a lot cheaper. The same firm has another outlet in Keswick, so will probably be available there as well.
