 I hate heat

Funnily enough we went to the seaside today, Southwold and Aldeburgh, as a Paul's birthday tomorrow treat. Nice in the breeze but sheltered spots were baking hot and unpleasent. All the tearoom type places were heaving with old people and women with small children. Suppose it was better than a weekend. Just.

NNPB, you should try a holiday in a breeze-block cottage with large single-glazed windows 300ft up a mountain in the south west of Ireland. We'll have the central heating on most evenings and be wearing thick leggings and woolly jumpers for a fortnight!! Just back from the flicks - Prince Caspian, which was rather fun, at least for me, with extended battle scenes and two bits that looked taken straight from Roman history. Now need to work out whether they're from CS Lewis, which wouldn't be surprising, or from the screenwriter, which would be more surprising.

Morning Ho hum. I can hardly wait for another thrill-packed day in work - no doubt twiddling my thumbs while the people I'm waiting on to do things don't get them done, so I can't get on either..... Still, at least Excalibur should turn up
Trev, NNPB, you'll be glad you weren't in my neck of the woods (Toulouse) yesterday.... it reached 37C in the afternoon but fortunately cooled down to a delightful 24C overnight! It's my own daft fault I suppose, but my anglo-saxon metabolism wasn't made for this weather...

John, we measured it at 30 degrees in the houses's main room at 9.30 pm last night. I shaved my head for some relief. Much more tolerable today. People tend to think I'm being contrary when I complain about the heat, but it makes me feel sick and ill! Kate, that sounds lovely, apart from the central heating Julie's finally finishing her course this week, and has suggested we do a jaunt this weekend. Any suggestions from anyone? Just an away-from-London weekendy thing, nothing fancy (or expensive!)
You've shaved your head?!! You won't look like NNPB any more. Or that Turkish footballer! <splutters of shock and horror> It's overcast in Cardiff.
Mornin' (just) A rhyme for NNPB FUZZY WUZZY WAS A BEAR; FUZZY WUZZY HAD NO HAIR! FUZZY WUZZY WASN'T VERY FUZZY WAS HE?
lol, haven't heard that one for years!!! He can't be a NNPB now, but must be an NNBB (Nearly Normal Bald Bear).
Well it doesn't look THAT different from normal! I'm balding anyway, like all the best men
<tries to think of 'best' men who are folically challenged>

Well, there's that famous American Indian chief, Bald Eagle.

Then there's Sam the American Eagle off of the Muppet Show. A real male Bald Eagle of course. Hang on a minute! I know! Katie, we could even try to organise one of your famous celebrity tag team fights, if we can get a few more suggestions of baldies here ! Then there's Duncan Goodhew, The old British team swimmer. Bob Hoskins the actor.

 Burley John's a wimp!!!
I won't deny it. And there's certainly some unexplained 'dark matter' around my middle these days... which might be explained by my being a wimp...
