Moving right along.....

I hope Kate's academic reputation isn't on the line here .......

I'm not sure I have an academic reputation!! I find the 'scientific experiment' with the apple entertaining.

It's absolutely hammering it down out there - hail and thunder!

My internet connection's been out since I got home at 4:45, but clearly I haven't missed anything important!!

Neighbour caught me going in to ask "a huge favour". I immediately agreed even before she told me what it was, since I'd guessed. They need me to look after their lab mongrel for a few days when I get back from Ireland. Hoorah

Hi all, sorry not been on at all recently but been really busy working and not been too well after work either.

This is a very happy doggy story btw.

We did the Horseshoe again last weekend, done it so many times I've actually forgotten how many times I've been up Snowdon, was a failry good day really, didn't properly rain.

Will be on tomorrow as its my first day off in yonks!

Which day were you out last weekend Jamie? I was on the Glyders Friday evening (mildly showery) and all day Sunday (pish morning, lovely afternoon). The top of Snowdon never quite came clear on Sunday as far as I could see.....

Very happy doggy story

Hope the job's been going ok, Jamie, and have a nice day off tomorrow. btw, did I leave my gtx baseball cap in the outside pocket of Nicky's rucksack last weekend? Can't find it at home and I can't remember retrieving it from Nicky on the saturday night. If it turns up, I'll meet up with it at Kinlochleven.

Morning

A bit duller here today. The same can probably be said about work!

Weather's shaping up 'interestingly' for the weekend.... still better take the opportunity to get out.

.

I wonder if Cath's managed to control her 'senile father' on Dolomite cliff faces so far..... or has he dropped his nuts again!

Kate, Nicky asked me a few days ago to ask you if you took it out of her outside pocket as she realised when she was unpacking that it had gone. So judging by the fact neither of you know where it is there is probably a Red Kite going round the Elan Valley sporting a nice Goretex cap and wondering why he didn't take the Nokia N95 too while he saw it by the river! I'll get Nicky to have another look and will scan inside my car too.

We walked Snowdon on Saturday Matt, was pretty dull most of the day, okay below about 700m but above that was just cloud, there was a few scary gusts while on Crib Goch and a few short showers but nothing at all bothering us really. Its always fun though when you get to the summit of snowdon and you see all the fools who set off from Llanberis in shorts and mini skirts with no fleeces or waterproofs realising it was a big mistake to presume a 1065m mountains summit would be in the same warm sunshine as down at the start! Was very cold, dark and damp up on the summit.

Saw the new cafe for the first time, the building itself is a massive improvement but the stones they are using for the paths around it and the Trafford Centre like staircases now leading to the summit cairn are an absolute disgrace! They are square cut like marble and stuff, nothing like the Snowdon rock or slate. They should be shot for using these things! I'm not usually one to be sensitive and bothered by these things but you shoudl see the staircase sections, they are rediculous and you could quite easilly be in the Trafford Centre! Really sad!

Jobs going okay, we're ahead of schedule now which is good, start my proper new job on the 14th, back in Manchester. Weather is a bit minging here today but forecast is to brighten up. Got day off and I've been up since 8am got too much to do and trying to get docs appointment as I have had lower back issues for way too long now and need to make sure I don't have AS like my dad and sister. Got to find a new shed too and also looking at getting a new bike as I want to cycle to work soon and also get out more on a decent bike, the one I got off Ebay is okay for going Tesco but turd for owt else.

Whats everyone up to at weekend? I'm working But then going to the Dales the weekend after with the mad lot!

'mornin' all!

Sunny here at present  but we had some fog yesterday

Major problems with my coms yesterday; my satellite link died. Spent most of my day up in the radome at the top of our coms tower fixing the blessed thing.

Good luck at the docs Jamie.

PS is it me or is that an empty white box?

Morning from a showery but warm Cardiff. I think Jamie and Nicky must have done the Snowdon Horseshoe in a white-out, Ace!!

Hope your satellite link's ok today.

I've done my good deed for the day; Boxer doggy on his own in the park, no-one around. I thought I recognised him as living just round the road from where I found him. So after some faffing trying to read his tag and failing, and disuading him and Jake from fighting we all headed in that direction. He shot off and I found him outside his home. Finally managed to snatch a look at his tag which confirmed I had the right place, but no answer at the door. I'd previously seen him at tied up under a tree in the back garden! and since there was a rope there tied him on it. By this time the Boxer was very stressed although he seemed to be a bit calmer - obviously his home. So I went home wondering if he'll manage to get free/etc so wrote a note to put though the door, but by the time I wandered back the owner was there. He'd been round the park looking for him and was very relieved to find him sat under the tree!

Hopefully he'll take more care of him.

Mornin' we have a few rain clouds hovering above Cheshire today.

Good to hear from Jamie Hope your back problem doesn't turn out to be anything too serious.

I also have an empty white box where Snowdon should be.

Was yesterday a bit like being at the top of the crow's nest, Dick? it creates a very dramatic image.

I'm cooking a cauldron of lamb stew made with lots of rosemary and red wine.  Some is for tea, some for the freezer and I've chopped all the meat and veg into tiny little pieces so I can dehydrate some.

Oooo lamb stew: one of our favourite meals!

Why is it only me that gets that ruddy white box problem! Grrr will try again and this time in Firefox as in IE the toolbar on this text box seems to have disappeared to.

Well done Beth! I bet the guy was extremely shocked when he found the doggy back on his rope in his garden! Hee Hee!

I take it you got you dehydrater in the end then MOS? I love steq but can't eat potato so whenever we go round any of my families houses they alwaqys have to make an ickle one on the side for me without them nasty spuds in.
