OMG Geoff says its going to be relatively ok ofr the next 3 days

Have eventually got a dentist and will see them tomorrow morning to fix me broken tooth. Lets hope my back decides to normal tomorrow and then I can maybe go out to play on Thursday & Friday

Cow Pie, if you want bike lights for off-road riding at night, then there are good halogen lights available at relatively low prices. It's 'old technology' these days but it works - the light is bright if a bit 'orangey'. The downside is battery life - halogen drains them quicker than HID or LED, but if you only expect to ride for a couple of hours that needn't be a problem.

If it's bright lights for riding on road under street lights that you want then there are plenty of good LED lights out there from the likes of Cateye that don't cost too much.

Get well soon Jamie. And be careful in there - you know what nurses are like.

Ditto on the getting well Jamie but I have no idea what you mean bout nurses Scott

They're easy to wind up.

Matt...

I think Cateye lights will do the trick

Cheers

Just back from the gym and Olympic pool on the bay where several hundred wannabe Rebecca Adlingtons were sploshing up and down.

Just had a txt from Jamie. He doesn't like hospital, which probably means he's getting nowhere chatting up the nurses

Has Jamie had or about to have an op?  I'm wondering why he's wearing pressure socks, or do they stick them on everyone in a bed now?

LOL at the thought of Jamie in anti embolic stockings

It's either a fairly rich hospital or Jamie has been classed as high risk of developing a deep vein thrombosis then again they may just like the idea of humiliating everyone by putting them in stockings - us workers have to get a laugh somehow

lol, poor Jamie.
Maybe he'll want to be known as Janet when he comes out.

Right, my laptop seems well and truely f*ck*d, I wonder whether pressure stockings would help?

Anyway, recommendations for replacement: don't need a whizz-bang speedy thing, use it for word-processing, powerpoint, internet, OMing. Don't want to have s*dd*ng McAfee bundled with it! Want something not too big or heavy, but fairly robust, whose lcd screen isn't going to go to blurry hell after 4 years.

Dunno, I get whatever Dell I can blag from work - they seem to last 3 or 4 years..... (then the screen goes!   )

Morning.

Sounds like you want what the guys in the shops will call a "family laptop", Kate. The answer is an Apple MacBook.

If you don't fancy going Apple, have a look at the Samsung R700, Dell Inspiron 1525, Toshiba Sat. P200 and the like.

Morning

It's pissing it down here and I've got the dentist to go to

Check out this lot or this crowd. I must admit I've always had a Toshiba and only had to replace because its been dropped. The current one I have has got crap speakers though

Right dentist awaits
