Sounds good Kate! You'll ave to come up with some weekend possibilities in the coming weeks, obviously avoiding important football matches!

I saw that about two months ago AT! Think I may have even posted it on here? Looks like a fine place for a WHW bunk house to me, bet your like me always putting in Mull, Skye, Highlands on Right Move and putting less than £100k to see what comes up or less than £10k searching for that old disused croft that'd make a cracking little project!

Well, that's us sorted - the Bennachie Rest Home, along with a bunkhouse and campsite. Did TBW win the lottery last night?

Who me?

I see a flaw in that cunning plan Kate...

"The whole area for Rannoch Moor—the highest Upland Moor in Britain—and Glencoe is naturally a very sensitive area and obtaining Planning Permission could prove difficult. However, the potential is seen as being along the lines of a commercial type of building such as a bunkhouse catering for the walkers, mountaineers, skiers etc. who frequent the area. It is therefore expected that any offer for the land could well be subject to the purchaser obtaining the necessary planning permission etc"

3mm shockcord's all over the place - I was hoping to get something finer. I'll pop into the Chandlers on the way to work tomorrow and see what they've got. If nothing finer than 3mm, I'll go with that.

Jamie, I'll have look at Utd away matches and Blues home matches and see if a weekend works out!!!

Oh and of course the other flaw is that TBW didn't win the lottery!

Darn!

Anyway, I think dinner's about to ping...

Is MOS around? Got some dehydration queries for her? MOS?????

Does anyone else do this freezer bag cooking thing too? Was wondering which freezer bags are best to use. I know Mad Jim does but not sure if he's perving at nurses or home yet.

Would be cool though us lot running a campsite to equal that wrecthed Red Squirell place that winds me up!

Quite clever that...the owner of the land offers it for sale...prospective purchaser obtains (and pays fees) for planning permission...but planning permission isn't restricted to the applicant...so once approved, landowner can then market land to other prospective purchasers...

Yeah, and you know all about that, I bet, Jamie!

MoS is in transit somewhere.

Well, it's not too bad, Jamie.

Oct 4, 11
Nov 8, 22, 30

are clear of home games for both Utd and Blues.

When's the West Highland Woosh? Should we consider having a meet when the others are wooshing, or would some of the wooshers be interested in a Brecon Beacons meet?

What is this WHWhoosh anyway? Are they doing it in some crazy time or something?

Unfortunately I didn't win the lottery last night Kate

There is however a £55M jackpot on the European Lottery tomorrow so I may just go put a ticket on  and dream

Jamie the WH Whoosh is a 4 day jaunt that a few of us are planning in Nov 14th - 17th. Want to join us?

'Crazy' is relative. They're doing it in 4 days. I declined to involve myself. Or at least, my knees did!

Lakeland do them, Jamie.

I think we found the Lakeland ones a bit sh!te actually - when we took them with our dehydrated lamb stew the other week, they had a tendency to snag and tear a bit so you couldn't leave them full of water to cook in the bag.

I'm not sure quite what we're on now, perhaps Tesco's ziplock bags.....?

Yeah just seen those on a blog Cath, luckilly we have a Lakeland a few miles down the road so may go get some tomorrow, they look good as they stand up on there own too.

Are you doing the whole thing in four days TBW?! I wouldn't ( couldn't ) do the whole thing in four days!

Do you put the freezer bags in a cosy too Matt? I wanna just test it out this weekend with porridge stuffs and also maybe some cous cous and things. Very interested in the drying of fruits too, theres certainly some good sites with good recipes, all look easy but tasty.

MoS poured boiling water into her bag and then used a cozy (well, a fleece actually). I put mine (from the ripped bag) into a pan and just rehydrated it on the stove. They both came out much the same in the end. We still need to do more experimenting - may get out to try again the first weekend in Sept, on the back of the Derwentwater Trail Race

Anyway, must get back to packing.....
