Ullo AR

Just took my dug for a walk and it's really raw out there - probably not much colder than yesterday but it certainly feels it.

Thats the problem Kate, there are about 6 buttons for changing things and you have to go through one bit to get to another, or you can go into a different bit and change that .

It doesn't say a lot in the instructions.

is it time for a cup of tea yet .

it was warmer up here yesterday Skip, I was quiet happy trying to tidy the garden a bit and strimming some of the overgrown gooseberry bushes in the hope it will upset the rabbit as that's where it is sheltering, I was hoping there would be a hole but havent seen one yet, I was going to leave bits of it growing for the birds as I'm not here enough to do anything with it < not that I know what to do with it anyway , my poor mother will be spinning in her grave>

Loads of sparrows and blackbirds hopping around today .

"Chicken"?

Is that a Penarth salutation, a kind of up-market version of the Potteries' "Ey up m'duck"?

It was a response to Alexander's question 'what's for supper'.

It's eaten now anyway.

TBW, thought this may be of interest

Isle Shona

One of the many sites, there are no vehicles on the island but there is a track that runs around the island and there are footpaths that run across it and through the woods ( if they're not all cut down by now )

The landlord will take you back and fore in a dingy, there are no shops so if you forget milk you've had it , the currents have to be seen to be believed when the tide turns as the water is forced between the island and the mainland into a funnel. The midgies have to be seen to be believed if its a calm night , ie, trees, rhoddies and bracken give lots of shelter to them.

Once you are over there you are slightly trapped as you rely on being picked up for your return trip back over once on the mainland.

edit, blustery with slight showers, am lighting stove , 8C /46F

Morning. Just sorting things out. Finn got rear-ended at a roundabout this morning by a lawyer! I'm ok, Finn's arse is a bit dented but I hope it's just the bumper and shock-absorber.

Bright here, the cranes are working hard - 2 green ones with orangey-red operators' boxes at the top which contrast very nicely with the green

Bad news Kate. Make sure that Finn's repairs are charged to the lawyer's insurance so that it does not affect your no-claim bonus.

Endless drizzly rain now . . . sigh,

Hope you can open and close your boot ok Kate , I reversed into a tree once ( it was in the middle of a Forestry car park < on its own > and it flattened the bumper and I couldnt open the boot .

Yep, boot opens and closes, but I haven't checked the indicators and lights which I must do.

John, don't worry, I do my insurance through a broker who has previously always been fab, and so far on this incident is also doing fab. The first thing the driver said was "sorry, my fault", so I can't imagine it's going to be a problem.

I'm getting worried Kate, all you need is that and an ice axe in the queue at the supermarket and you'll be the first one at the till .

I cant get my tower to download emails as it wont accept my password , I'm needing receipts .

Don't laugh, Alexander, a couple of friends got stopped by the armed response unit in Merthyr last week because they were in the same model of car as one that had just done a drive-off from a petrol station. Different colour, but what the heck? They were wearing balaclavas because they'd just left rescue training and it was really cold
