Busy day but home now. Good news about Finn, the audi-driving lawyer has formally accepted responsibility and they reckon Finn's repairs are financially viable so I'm pretty hopeful they won't write him off now

Question for Defender owners. Are they a beast when it comes to gas guzzling and running costs? Are they easy meat for thieves if left parked in a city street overnight? My skip is on its last legs, and i might be looking for new wheels. As i don't care what my car looks like, a beat-up Defender may do nicely. Especially for narrow winter single track roads.

Good news about Finn Kate, he's got some life in him yet. It's good to know there are still some decent honest people out there Mike- is this what you're looking for? Time for me to go

Cheers Flaff. Thirsty? I'll look at something else.

Wanna buy a 10 year old Fiesta, Mike? FSH, reasonable condition, about to get a new bumper!

Evenin' Bennachites, Not a bad day, especially as I didn't have to work. So I went for a walk instead, about five miles on footpaths. Still a bit of snow on the ground and frozen so no mud. There was a gentle wind (about 3 or 4) and the temperature was hovering round zero. I made the mistake of not changing out of my jeans into walking trousers so my legs got rather chilled even though I was striding along - jeans are hopeless outside the house. Saw a buzzard at really close quarters

I saw a couple of cars of folk up An Teallach, fingers of snow filling the gullies with its head in the clouds at 5pm and light rain but it was dry and bright all day in Inverness. Not freezing and the rivers are down on the West, its breezy at sea level though. Glad you managed to keep your boots clean Skip .

Evening all. I am back online and living in the countryside now. I don't quite have a view to rival AR's but it is not too bad for the south. A small place for little old me but I have a balcony!
Oh look.... there's a christmas munky on BBs Balcony...... has your little pal gone on holiday down South AR?

Saw a buzzard at really close quarters
I once turned a corner round a huge heather hag, and came across a golden eagle eating a rabbit. It was no more than 10 feet away. It seemed to stand about 3 foot tall.
I swear it looked at me mockingly with those huge yellow rimmed eyes, before lasily taking off with huge 'whooop whoops' of its wings. I'll never forget the awe i felt.
