Bob, I suspect ptc was referring to the shop James is having trouble with, not you...

When I contacted Vango to get a quote for a tent repair they basically told me that they weren't interested - I now own a Terra Nova super quasar

I have had bother with the store before, but I believe the problem IS with Vango. I did try to contact them before when I had another bag needing repaired and they were not the most helpful, claiming they don't deal with the public. I like their stuff however and have since bought a Vango rucksack, even though when it comes to it they are not the best company to deal with. As it is I'm still waiting....

Any progress on this yet?

Is Vango actually the "manufacturer" - or is the "manufacturer" really a sweatshop in China? Could be in for a long wait if it's got to go back to China!

Good grief, James...

Is it in warranty, or are you going back to them for a repair simply because they're the manufacturer?

If the latter, why not tell them to send it back and send it off yourself to the Scottish place mentioned earlier in the thread?

Vango products have a lifetime warranty for defects in maufacturing. I pulled a strap to tighten it and it ripped off, so they probably won't even repar it, claiming it is wear and tear. I am going in to the retailer tomorrow, as I cant get a decent answer over the phone.
As I said before, Vango told me they don't deal with the customer, they deal with the retailer. Every time I have to visit the retailer I have a 35 mile round trip to do it, they really need to get in to the 21st century.

It sounds as though it might be cheaper for you to just buy a new sack!

Adventure 1 in Glasgow. I did buy another sack, another Vango! Don't learn, do I?

Huzzah, I went in today, and found that the problem is sorted, Vango had written off my old sack and sent out a new one last Thursday, however the shop had mislaid my phone number, so they couldn't contact me.
Its taken a bit longer than it should have, but I do think that was down to Vango, rather than the shop.
James - had a similar problem a couple of years ago with a Vango sack bought from Summits in Paisley. Was pleasantly surprised that Vango replaced it no problem - didn't take as long as yours though! Glad you've got it sorted.

Bloody hell vango are only 15 miles up the road in Port Glasgow. Ive only ever bought vango tents and never had any bother with repairs however this time they have had my tent poles for 4 weeks and they are becoming very poor at customer service,
