Well after the backpacking trip i noticed after finding unusually damp feet that my boots have started splitting where the sole meets the leather and letting water in. They are about 3yrs old and perfect for three season mountain walking. Is there anyway of getting them repaired as im after some winter boots but don't fancy walking all yr in the the stiffies. They are Salomon thingys (cant remeber the model..see pic )Cant remember what the Salomon warrenty states and if it counts as general wear and tear of faulty workmanship.
Any info/advice wuld be greatfully recived

Cheers
Ben

First port of call would probably be the Salomon website. I doubt that the guarantee will cover this, but it might, and they should be able to suggest a repairers or give you a quote at the very least.

Personally, I don't think the sole should EVER part from the upper on a well-made pair of boots, regardless of wear. It may be reasonable for the sole or the upper to wear through, but not to separate.

I would get on to the shop first, if you've still got the receipt, and failing that contact Salomon.

Legally your contract is with the retailer not Salomon. But they may want to offer a 'service' nonetheless.

Quote the Sale of Goods Act if they get shirty.

gb_events@salomon-sports.com seems to be the only email address Ben.

Ask your retailer first, preferably the manager.

It may help the compromise process if you remind them that you have spent mega-spondoolies with them. Quote an accurate figure if you can. But there again, if a 4wd drove over them and mashed the boots it may be a bit of a lost cause.

Salomon in the UK are Salomon Taylor Made Ltd. Tel: 01256 479555.

I'd tend to agree with Joan that soles shouldn't come off boots, but then again, it depends what you've been doing with them and how worn they are generally.

Your first resort though, should be the retailer you bought them from. Good luck.

Or try some of the online cycling sites:
http://www.wiggle.co.uk

For example do High 5, SIS and Power Bars in bulk with discount.

You'll find a load more on the BIKEmagic shopping section.
