I know about the smallish hood but is it still a good jacket?

I want eVent but am really having trouble making my midn up about the Rab Bergen/Lofoten and Montane Superfly XT - basically because I am looking for a great deal!

£96 is a great deal for a good jacket, but obviously a waste of £96 otherwise

You've probably read my review, so this is to say that I've been using mine on the tops a fair bit this winter. It's coped well in the snow and the wind, so far I've not been rained on this winter!

If I don't dither too long looks like I might go for one of these two instead of the Rab / Montane options - can't get deals like this for them I don't think.

Biggest dithering factor is wanting to try on first - but options are limited there.

Exile - it's a 3-layer (so no liner, presumably) and a bit more technical (shorter cut), they say.

Given the choice again, I would probably go for the Exile instead of the Epoch.

If you're not sure, give Crags a ring and explain, they would probably sell you one and keep the other in reserve in case you changed your mind, so long as you didn't take too long. Who knows, they may send both "on approval" They're good at that sort of thing.
